16:34 Jay, the Freewinds ship has a VERY strange history. You should read about it sometime.. Interesting at the least.

I am new to the channel and LOVE the videos. Thanks so much for making all of these. BTW- I did a quick Google because of had never heard of Freewinds, the ship in port you mention at 16:36. It's a Scientology retreat ship. Interesting, huh?

Two questions: Did Dee teach herself to snorkel or did she takes lessons. And do you have to have a passport to fly to st thomas or any of the American Virgin Island
@parodeejay3 жыл бұрын
Self-taught, just from getting out there and splashing around. And you shouldn’t need a passport to fly within the US, which would include the USVI and Puerto Rico, no.

Story time......HA HA back about 25 years ago I was on a cruise with a group and we stopped in Aruba. These people wanted to go snorkeling and checked to see if I could go even though I do not even know how to swim, let alone snorkel. I was permitted to go because they were going out to this manmade dock sort of thing in the water and at the end there was a restaurant/bar and lounges to sit on to sunbathe. It was quite unique. Everyone went in the water and I settled in on a lounge and suddenly this very shapely young woman came to the front of the dock where I was and chose a lounge in front of me, then removed her bathing suit top and settled in. All the tourist were staring and I found out that was permissible at that time. So tell me, Jay, did you stay on the Pirate Boat with SUNBATHERS??????? 😳🤪

Oh wow, we didn't have any of that action on the pirate ship, ha ha... but we did onboard the Carnival Liberty one time... funny!! :P

That's awesome! We haven't sailed Norwegian yet, as our two for September have been canceled. We're slated to sail them in December, fingers crossed, but not the Pearl.

around the 7.14 mark. was that a shark? I looked 3 times and that's what it looks like to me.
@parodeejay4 жыл бұрын
It was definitely big! Dee remembers seeing it at the time and doesn't think it was a shark, but ya never know!! :P
@simonebennett64073 жыл бұрын
@@parodeejay Scuba Diver here, it was definitely a reef shark of some type I'm pretty sure. It could have been another kind but it was probably some kind of Caribbean Reef shark. I'm thinking it was a white tip, but it was pretty deep below you. It could have also been a smaller Lemon Shark. They are both common in Aruba. I kept playing that part over and over again to see at 7 minute 14 second mark, but that wasn't a huge wreck so it was hard to compare against the side of the wreck and how deep it was. Thanks for sharing this I was so excited that you saw this. Reef sharks are not overly aggressive if you just don't get too close to them (or in the case of some of them, if they are congregating, don't try to break them up). Don't try to pet them, but honestly we've never had any trouble diving with them. Lemon sharks can be problematic, but they aren't like Tiger Sharks or anything, still, since you aren't a diver and experienced with sharks, I'm glad you weren't that close to it!
