For clarity - the buff was 5 BASE dmg, which is then increased by 50% on the sweet spot, and further increased on the 2nd and 3rd qs. This means that, if the aatrox hits 3 sweet spots, he'll get (1.5*5)+(1.5*5*1.25)+(1.5*5*1.5) = only 28.125 more dmg at all levels - so at early levels he could do about (Let's assume 650 early hp) another 4% of your maximum health in dmg - so yeah, not a lot. However, the real pain about aatrox before was how annoying and difficult it was to hit that tiny sweet spot - which was then increased as well in the hotfix. This isnt as quantifiable so its more difficult to analyse but it should be fair to assume that being able to actually land that damage more consistently, especially with a (30+37+45 = 112) potential dmg q and his passive damage, it would make aatrox better to play and actually land his damage more consistently - especially seeing that his e now resets his aa timer for a riven-esque q auto q damage output - allowing for (assuming 3 autoes w/ 3 qs) more dmg at lvl 1. Since we're talking damage, ill also ignore the e passive healing buff, despite the 5% increase also contributing a decent amount to early trades. So, in theory, if aatrox starts with a, say, doran's shield and doesn't get any bonus AD, at lvl 2 he should be able to do : (with 63.6 BASE AD) 1st Q - (20+(0.64*63.6))*1.5=91 dmg 1st AA (w/ passive) 63.6 dmg + 8.47% max hp (let's assume 650 hp again for 55 dmg) = 108.6 dmg *At this point we use e during 2nd q, giving us 15 bonus ad 2nd Q - ((20+(0.64*78.6))*1.5)*1.25 = 131.82 dmg 2nd AA = 78.6 dmg *Same as above 3rd Q - ((20+(0.64*78.6))*1.5)*1.5 = 158.18400 3rd AA = 78.6 Dmg For a total lvl 2 combo of about 646.80400 dmg on a 650 hp target - almost all of their hp bar pre-resistances - compared to pre-nerf, which did not allow the aa resets for a total combo dmg of - 1st Q - (15+(0.64*63.6))*1.5=83.556 dmg 1st AA (w/ passive) 63.6 dmg + 8.47% max hp (let's assume 650 hp again for 55 dmg) = 108.6 dmg *At this point we use e during 2nd q, giving us 15 bonus ad 2nd Q - ((15+(0.64*78.6))*1.5)*1.25 = 122.445 dmg *Same as above 3rd Q - ((15+(0.64*78.6))*1.5)*1.5 = 146.93400 (2nd AA post-combo = 78.6 Dmg) Giving us a combo dmg of 461.53500 - or maximum of 539.535 dmg if you include the post-combo aa, which will tend to be a little slower than the 3rd aa of the first displayed combo - resulting in a maximum difference of dmg of a little over 100 against a 650 hp target - meaning that you can deal a decent extra chunk to a target with the new buffs - if you hit everything and combo well. So yeah, the buffs can be considered pretty strong. And no, I didn't have anything better to do at the time other than doing lines of math in a yt comment section. Thanks synapse.
