Get a small stepladder that can fit in between the two machines ... then it will be easier to reach stuff on the shelf. Get Dad to take down that shelf and put up a wood shelf with more depth. You can brace the shelf with metal brackets that are hidden inside the wood ... roadtrip with dad to Home Depot or Lowes? Yup the ATT guy is also a salesperson ... a 'free' upgrade means money for AT&T. Also there is a slimline rolling cart that you can put between the washer and dryer. Keep the smaller bottles on it and refill from the big bottles on the shelf ... less back and forth from the shelf in the back.

Get a water detector sensor for your washing machine tray. Im a new homeowner too and my realtor recommended it since my washer is in a second floor laundry room. Even the smallest leak can cause issues.

Lol I'm saying the same thing I have sweaters and winter coats, shoes, rain coat for my two small breed dogs. When I was living in JA I was running from dogs. If I hear them bark, now I'm a full-time fur babies Mom lol. They are so loving and sweet, One Love wildcaught salmon alot and the other like grass feed lamb lol. But no seasoning I just bake it as is.

Love the daddy daughter vibes. Nuff respect. Love the rug you went with for the living area, it elevated the look as you said and added another element of texture which will come together so much better when you start accessorizing. I would like the big mirror better if it was flush against that wall but the black finish and the slant in that space is not grabbing me. Maybe try option 2 like you asked and see. Can't you do virtual options to see what works in that space before buying or do you have to have it there and get a feel for it? Any way you set it, wi ago like it. All the best.
