Blessed by the Universe on this day and yet it seems just like yesterday. Looking back I have nothing but gratitude and positive emotions about this event that changes my life in a flash. This moment is always a reminder for myself to be authentic, stay present, be fearless, and surrender to life as it unfolds. It is these factors that helped me win that morning in Bangkok and I believe are also key elements of success for anything in life. 🏆 I am now going for other big dreams with the same attitude and approach and I have no doubt anything is possible if I stay authentic, present, fearless and accepting. 💖💖💖 Thank you for everything, Miss Universe Organization. I watched this show when I was living in Canada and honestly the Canadians did not make such a big deal about it. Contrary to the Hispanic countries that love to watch and celebrate the winners of Miss Universe

True. Natalie was treated like shit by her own city of Toronto politicians. She received no congratulations from any of them, not even her own mayor. She was barred by city bureaucrats from Toronto's Tastes of Thailand festival because she was in a pageant. She was literally escorted off the property by security. The public outrage caused the mayor to later offer a half hearted apology when he realized it might affect his political career.
