Logos had more importance and branding played second fiddle. Now it seems logos need to work in so many different mediums working in conjunction with branding with is why logos can afford to be less exciting in the grand scheme. Case in point 'BT', so boring imo, but their branding acts as the shining light. Unfortunate, but I believe true...

They all think that simplistic designs on the internet and social media made by random people are what's "in" now. Of course it is NOT what's in! Demand to ALL of these companies to bring back their old logos! I'm not kidding! So far, it is starting to work. For example, a privately held retail company in my home state, which recently changed their long-lasting logo design from the 80s into something soulless-looking; now, even more recently, from listening to customer demand, they changed their logo back to its 1980s version.

Don't have a problem with the Papa John's Pizza updated design itself, more the removal of the apostrophe that bothered me. I assume Papa's name is 'John', so why is this named 'Johns'? Additionally, really dislike the renewed VW logo, not for it's oversimplification, but the letter weights look too thin. *eBay* (old and new) do not work for me either (and why is their company name spelt with a capital B specifically, but their logo is all lowercase?)

@@fahdgmari2182 Back when I posted this, the logo was still new, I'm used to seeing it now. To be honest, it's not too bad. It's just hard to read. I think with a bit of tweaking to somehow make the letters more distinct, like maybe crossing the A, it would be a good logo. To each their own, I suppose.
