Hey this is Zach, (former student) Yes Walker county along with the rest of North Alabama was Unionist and IS Appalachian, which IS different from Southern plantation culture. I’ve always made a point to make people understand this, so thank you so much for saying that. Especially when I have to drive past a confederate monument glorifying confederate conscription or whatever. Walker County, Nickajack, USA!
