Your phone usb c is gen 1 so it's slower. It's about 450 read/write. Your computer is gen 2. About 1000 read/write max. The ssd is gen 2 rated speeds.

how are the load times for games?
@MarlonKingShow2 ай бұрын
On assassin's creed, I haven't noticed a difference between internal and external. I'm sure internal would be slightly faster but hasn't been that noticeable, so been impressed so far

Definately better buy sata ssd like crucial mx500 and enclosure better stable performence dram and 2,7gb/s speed (a bit better). 0 overheat and you can customize enclosure

I guess it really depends how much you will be using it. I haven't experienced any over heating on mine. But gaming wise, for the most part it's to allow me to store more games ready to play with a quick 5 minute swap storage device rather than 30 minute plus downloads each time (or significantly longer). If you plan to play a lot directly off the drive there may be some benefits to your suggestion but I imagine that solution would cost more.

Will this work for xbox one s ?

does it have encryption software? Is there a password?
@MarlonKingShow2 ай бұрын
You can add encryption but if you are, it may not be switchable amongst different devices. For windows, it's recommended to use bitlocker and for mac filevault. I have not tested this has with portable drives, I tend to switch about and not sure if it would stop use on a phone.

Can i use this ssd on my xbox one x?
@MarlonKingShow2 ай бұрын
If you are referring to the older one x then whilst I don't have one I believe it should still work. New xbox one series x and s both support it however optimised for x/s titles may request you play from internal drive only, which just means moving the games between drives and can take 5 minutes to transfer on the newer consoles.

@@MarlonKingShow Yes, I don't think you can play directly from an external hard drive, regardless of whether it's an ssd! The games must be moved between the disks. That's why I'm considering "Seagate Game Drive for Xbox, 4TB" But this is not an SSD disk, so I don't know how long it will take to transfer one game back to the internal disk! Or do you think it is better with an external ssd disk anyway?

@scandibook the only advantage you get is more space. Ssd will be faster copying over, if its a newer xbox will support faster transfer speeds, but even on an older one should still max out transfers and be faster. Also, if you do upgrade to a newer console, you already have a faster drive. I originally was looking at some cheaper non ssd storage, but I'd much rather waste as little time as possible transferring so for the sake of getting ssd, I can play more each time I swap games.
