How come you didn't pull the piston and valves out to inspect and do a valve job and possibly replace rings? Or did you do this and just edit it out of the video?

when the engine was all together it had perfect compression so I had no worry about rings or valves.. it had no blow-by or valve leaks so I didn't worry. the cylinder was also visible smooth and no signs of wear so I didn't see a need to do any work on them

@@cruddycornstalks I don't know man, I would probably still tear it apart a little more than you did. I picked up an old briggs engine that actually ran with good compression when I got it and when I pulled it apart I found that the piston was shot (cylinder still good), and the valves and seats were so bad they needed to be cut...

@@colin_5839 I checked to see if the piston had any problems by wigling it in the bore it had a good fit so I had no worries. the engine is not going to get worked any in its life so it's not a big deal even if it was worn out.
