Looks great! Do you think the counters are an improvement over the thick laser-cut counters of the VPG version? When I get this, I might be tempted to use the VPG counters. They were nice and chunky… The version I have has the original card map (I missed out on the laser cut puzzzle version of the map) - it was very frustrating as the two halves always slipped apart. The mounted board in this version looks great.

I loved the laser cut versions... never had a soot issue either. That said, the new counters are serviceable to be sure, but if I still had them, I'd use the wooden ones :)

For me the original game board was nicer and more detailed than the new one. Also the fortress counter design was better because it represented a fortress, on the new ones there are just flag.

Looks good. I live near Clitheroe Castle in Lancashire, England that had a Royalist garrison stationed and Flemish mercenaries. They were hated by the locals due to s habit of kidnapping locals for ransom. When Cromwells forces came down here, they lay siege to the castle and blew a hole in it with a siege cannon called "Humpty Dumpty, where the Nursery Rhyme comes from. 3:23
