You can tell how deeply Zuo Zhen cares for her and how much he's evolved. In ep 5, when Tang Hai threw her into bed with him, he pounced on her and was very aggressive. Despite spending a year or two frustrated waiting for this moment, he went slow because Jingxiu was nervous. I don't think that would've happened in the earlier episodes.
