Meet the classic old band with their acoustic instruments from Ndingo village, GVH Mtambwa, TA Chitekwele in Lilongwe known as Ndingo Brothers Band. The band started way back in 1974 when brothers and cousins teamed up as young boys to form a band in their village. It all started when Namoni Ndingo (the guy in a green cap), Charity Ndingo, Simon Mwale and Lucas Kusamba formed a loose group to compete in music competitions especially when school was closing. Soon enough they realised they were talented enough to form a band. They started off playing at local events and markets. As they grew, each took their own way trying to earn a living and they disbanded for a while. Some original members of the band found themselves in Blantyre where they regrouped and revived the band, in the process recording their first songs at MBC Studios. They later moved to Lilongwe and continued with random performances until three of the original members passed on leaving Namoni Ndingo alone. He took some time off music before assembling a team of younger folk and reconstituting the band. They still perform todate, and they still produce the original Ndingo sound.
