I would absolutely side with the teen. He completely understood how important it was to be on ship time and to be back in time. He seemed to be the only responsible one and understood how cruising worked. Just the same for being on time for a flight. You're not there, they leave without you.

The kid was being the responsible one. And hearing the parents not only waved to know why the ship didn’t wait but scolded their child - good grief. I hope he continues to do well in life and keep his head at all times. For the parents - just total idiots.
@sharondalynnewton75622 ай бұрын
I side with the teen. The parents are idiots not wanting to take accountability for their actions. To think, had the teen stayed with them, they would have been buying three expensive plane tickets to meet up with the ship. Either way, they would have been upset with the teen.

Well, Doug it seems we have a consensus. I will join the majority in finding for the 18 year old son. The parents, who are both adults, were responsible for returning to the ship in time for departure. On that happy note, we'll look forward to you next posting. 😊😊😊😊
@2bluize12 ай бұрын
Heard about this but the other story said it was a daughter not a son. I think the child was correct and more responsible than the parents. The parents shouldn’t be made at their child or the ship, but admit they were irresponsible.
@julieb78822 ай бұрын
The teen girl was correct. Also they were angry because she alone didn't make the ship wait.
@pamelabrauer94502 ай бұрын
Pretty sure that most responsible people would side with the young adult, not his irresponsible parents. And the fact that they were angry because of this speaks volumes about their parenting skills. It’s good to know that sometimes kids turn out okay, IN SPITE OF their parents.

I side with the kid. He was being responsible, and he TOLD his parents not to forget to get to the ship soon. All that money they thought they would save by haggling with the local merchants is now lost. Always plan to get to the ship about an hour early. It's expensive for ships to overstay in port.
@donnathompson16822 ай бұрын

Changing the loyalty program does not sound good. The cruise lines seem to be reducing the perks for their loyal customers. Maybe they feel we have already spent tons of money with them, and they are focused on attracting new customers who don't have the memory of how cruising used to be.
