Cruise Ship Italian Specialty Restaurant (NCL La Cucina Menus & Food on Norwegian Joy)

We ate at NCL's Italian Specialty Restaurant La Cucina aboard the Norwegian Joy cruise ship. Checkout the menu plus the food we ordered, and see what we thought. Other than an overcooked entree, we quite enjoyed our dinner at La Cucina.

La Cucina has changed alot. Even though it’s more expensive now but the food quality is much better. Five years ago, I wouldn’t go there to eat, especially for extra charge. I’d like to have my bills end with $0 just like yours. 😂

Yeah it has been better for sure. We were able to eat for free because we're NCL Latitude platinum level 🌝

I had the grilled salmon entree it was by far the best meal I had on the Bliss, although three other specialty meals were very good also.

I haven’t gone to La Cucina in a long time the Spaghetti at the Buffet is much better. I’ll be on NCL in October I’ll try it again.

Though I have no desire for specialty dining (plenty of included high quality options always), everything looked divine. I had to laugh. I now know what it looks like when you’re genuinely mad. There was a brief second while you discussed the overcooked shrimp. In that brief second I peered into the Gates Of Hell. I pray your son and husband have never had to endure that terror. Your face is truly lovely. Lovely and terrifying is a lethal combination. As always, thanks for sharing your experience. You are highly gifted producers. Hope to someday see you on the seas.

Love your food videos especially the ones on the specialty restaurants have you guys ever considered cruising on a Oceania and doing some videos on there all inclusive dining it'd be interesting to know how much the dining package was and how many specialty meals were included in that dining package love you guys videos keep it up

Great video, as usual. Honestly, I didn't think that the food looked like anything really special or significantly better than the MDR food . I think that I would have expected more flair. As for the people asking if your son would eat off the children's menu have never been a 10 year old boy. We wanted the good stuff!

As someone who's cruised, I truly don't get the attraction of the nickel and diming of the specialty restaurants when all-inclusive options are available. The frutti di mare was $34 and overcooked. I've had frutti di mare in the included main dining room and my wallet wasn't $34 lighter. The video yesterday at the French specialty location had a serving of ice cream for $5. Again, it's the same ice included in the MDR. The fees are getting ridiculous. Some lines are now charging for room service.

I definitely agree. This seems to be the trend of all the cruise lines. I think NCL is trying to sway passengers towards dining packages. Then you would order 1 app, 1 main entree & 1 dessert without worrying about the costs of the individual items. It calculates out to be similar to the other cruise line's fee for specialty restaurants.

@@TravelTouristVideos yes, but even a dining package is an added expense that's taking people away from the days of all-inclusive dining. Unless the restaurant is offering something spectacular (wagyu beef, a full lobster as opposed to just a tail) I'll stick with the main dining room.

I feel the same way. Holland America for us seems to be the one keeping the quality of included food highest.

Yup there is a cheaper kid's menu, or you can just ask for something from the buffet or the main dining room kid's menu and it'll be free
