@Michael Pezzullo I am a Captain and could not see that it was an actual Turning Basin which is why I did not use the term. The term is used for a space (usually at the far end of a docking space) actually designed and dredged for such. One of my favorite misused term is "tarmac: which does not actually exist except as a paving material but is well on the way to being accepted as a "real" term like "flounder" which is not an acceptable term for "founder."

@dodat19003 жыл бұрын
No idiot you’re wrong
@ralphholiman74013 жыл бұрын
Thrusters are what move the boat from side to side. They are at the bow, and sometimes in the rear, at the stern. You can see their location, because the large ships that have them have little pictures of propellers above them (which are inside the thrusters) to let divers and line handlers know where they are underwater on the ship.

I think that is way over blown. And the news is partially responsible. First, it was not that close, plenty of distance. Second, the reporter wrongly stated the ship was thrown into reverse when, actually, it was using its bow thruster to push its nose away from the house. Standard procedure. Too much unneccessary drama added by the news crew. Know the facts before you use it as a story.
