My father James t wilson, brought one of these home for my mother, as her daily ride. Mom had that car for about a year, or so. Dad retired as the director of sales and distribution for Pontiac motor. In his position, consequently, he had access to many special pontiacs, okay? I'm not sure what was done at the factory to Mom's Can-Am. Suffice it to say it was heavily modified, and certainly had more than 200 horsepower. I was in my early twenties at this point in time. I would occasionally get my hands on Mom's ride, and take it out cruising on Woodward avenue. That car turned a lot of heads. Also, if I remember correctly it was quite the chick magnet, lol. Dad traded that car in for I believe a Grand Prix SJ super duty. Good times!

Pontiac only made about 1100 or 1300 of those cars but unfortunately at mid production the original mold for the rear spoiler was damaged beyond repair and pontiac Halted production and the le man's that were supposed to be converted to the can am still had the 6.6 litre but no paint of stripes no one know how many of those were sold as plain le mans
