We cruised around and explored Copenhagen Harbor with a Friendships Boat. Luckily we got the nicest day of the year so far in Copenhagen, and it was Mother's Day!
We ride past Christianshavn, Christiansborg Slot, Gammel Strand, the Opera House, Amalienborg, we see it all. It is super cool to see everything from the water and to guide yourself at your own pace. We took advantage of the nice day to stop and picnic at the Kayak Bar halfway through the journey.
We thank Friendships Boats for being so accommodating and for having such a cool and unique way to explore Copenhagen.

Yes, this was the island where the famous Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe made many of his precise observations of the stars and the planets, which his pupil Johannes Kepler would later use to deduct his three laws for planetary motion around the Sun ( which would then inspire Isaac Newto later on ). The island of Hven was actually given to TB as a county (len) for his services by the king of Denmark. There is a small museum in his hounour in an old church in the middle of Hven next to an underground information center explaining his work and instruments - as well as the ruins of his two famous observatories Uranienborg & Stjerneborg.

It's really not just for tourists. Even regular Copenhageners can see something new by going out on the canals and into the harbour on their own. I've only done it in kayaks and rowing boats, but the city really offers something special when you're just messing about on the water in your own pace. (And an electric boat seems a great option!) Not, of course, that there's anything wrong with one of the harbour tour boats; some of them are great value for money.

Lovely video as always. I think we all have something that we keep packing up and taking to the next place even though we should probably throw it out at this point. However having that item be something that use to be edible is rare. For a second there it looked like the can had already started leaking with beans on the lid but I guess it was just regular gunk. I don't know if you can do it in a minute but a small tour of the concert posters on the walls would be cool on a friday. They look like the 4 coloured hand printed ones I collect from my favourite american band.

We were thinking about doing one about the St. Paul and the Broken Bones poster that is behind us on most our shots at home now. It is in the middle of us at the end of this video. But we could use that to chat about some other ones, I have a lot of posters, a ton of which aren't hanging with even more just stored in the frames behind others to keep them flat :). I do think that is just gunk, we should clean it, but it also gives it some charm. What is your favorite american band?

@@TravelinYoung Dave Matthews Band. I've seen them all the times they've come to Denmark and travelled to the states to see them on tour there as well. They don't really fit any genre definition so lets just call it rock/pop/bluegrass/brass ;) On top of the amazing music, for every city on their tour, they have an artist create a specific poster and then have it hand printed in 4 colours on really thick paper.

Near the beginning of your boat travel you went between and along two city streets with the interesting names "Overgaden Oven Vandet" and "Overgaden Neden Vandet". The names roughly translate to "Over Street Above the Water" and "Over Street Below the Water", although both streets clearly are above the water. This is a less touristy part of the city and nice for a casual walk if you want to see how most of central Copenhagen really is.

I watched a documentary on German TV, where they had gotten their hands on some old cans of various products, some 20+ years beyond best before, they had chefs prepare them, and they got the contents tested in a lab, all of them were safe to eat, the only problem was the sauerkraut that had taken on a metallic taste because the acidic contents had dissolved some of the can. Also, yes complain about the yellow banner, complaining is almost a national sport, consider it part of your danification ;)

You guys should visit Esbjerg. It’s called often Denmark’s Chicago because a lot of people moved here due to the fishing industry back in the days. I guess that translates to Chicago’s citizen increase due to the car industry there. Maybe you can see the similarities. From here you can visit Fanø by ferry (12 min ride) which is very nature rich and full of old buildings with thatched roofs and old fashioned local society. You can also visit Ribe. Back in the days it almost became the capital of Denmark and has similarities with Fanø in terms of old buildings with “bindingsværk’’ which is an old building tradition where you build the outer walls with bricks and wood in between in a square shape. Those buildings are considered rare and therefore you are obliged to keep them original.

Happy anniversary, 21 years have brought you four missions out into the unknown and still you have the original supplies (the can of beans) - now that you have taken your ship on a cruise in this quadrant of the galaxy (Copenhagen harbour) I do think that you should have said a little bit more about the buildings you passed on you cruise, ie. you passed the sculpture in the kanal at Højbro plads, Agnete og Havmanden and on Højbro Plads, Absalon the forunder of Copenhagen, you passed past the parliament on the other side, past Børsen with the twisted spire ( the stock exchange), then we saw the church Holmes Kirke - it’s the royal navies church, we saw Nyhavn from the harbour side, we saw the danish opera house, we saw Amalienborg and Amaliehaven. - al of this without you mentioning any of it. No it was just cheese on crackers and how captain Joshua got the “ Star ship” into space dock. Young’s boldly go where you have gone before but tell what you see to those that haven’t go there yet.😉 Live long and prosper.🖖🏻 Jean Ricard.

@@TravelinYoung ... Just so that you know. Riders of Justice is nothing like the typical Hollywood revenge action movie, but at times a highly violent ("Viking") Danish dark comedy-drama, with some in depth layers of personal soul searching. Some describe it as being all over the place, but actually it's really relying on the 'butterfly effect' with future events depending on one tiny event after the other. @@TravelinYoung Even if you're 6 people, it's still 150 per person, for two hours of sailing around the canals. It's still alot. Also one hour means you can never be more than 30 minutes away from the "shop", which in turn limits the trip. One hour would not be enough to see enough interesting things in the Copenhagen harbor areas. Not everyone makes 50k per month, so 150kr per person can be alot of money for them. Also, you're right ofcourse, that one hour is "only 500kr", but that's still alot. Also, it's not an hour but 55 minutes per the terms on the website.
