@userless7517 Well, as a hardcore fan, I can TOTALLY here some resemblance. Familiar chord progressions and a similar bouncing bass line. It also has the same laid back feel not to mention they used the same exact FM synthesis hardware.

Holy crap! I can't believe they managed to capture the feel of the original so precisely!

Lol you know this is good because Data Discs put it on their Out Run vinyl data-discs.com/products/outrun

Because they used actual Outrun arcade hardware, FM synths and PCM samples making the new tracks!

this sounds HEAVILY inspired in casiopea music. Just compare this song with Ayasake from Mint Jams album, specially here: 3:58

Nothing beats Passing Breeze, but Cruising Line does come very close. Excellent track and fantastic conversion all round. I still play it occasionally on my 3DS.

Wait! This track and Camino a Mi Amor are new tracks made for this 3DS port? I always though it was some sort of exclusve japanese arcade tracks! Man, kudos to M2, they did it again, just like the Fantasy Zone II System 16 remake.

yes, replicated also into sega ages version on Nintendo Switch.

Sure, it was composed using the original OutRun hardware! :) The same goes for Camino de Mio Amor. SEGA went all the way with that 3DS port.

Shit. I heard this song at the start of a guru Larry video and I have been asking him for ages what it was from. I was so sure I had heard it in the early 90's and that the name/game had just been escaping me. Blown away to see it's from just a few years ago!

Except Sega Mega Drive music hardly ever had good quality PCM samples because they took up a lot of space on the cartridge. It's like using gasoline to drive a steam engine. Arcade games could afford that, however.

This is an amazing track, but if Namiki made a track that was more original but still sounded like OutRun, it may have more authentic. The track's style overall seems like a mix of Kawaguchi's and Namiki's.

Sorry, I hate to disagree with everyone else, but as a huge fan of the original music I'm just not keen on these new tracks. The hardware is obviously identical, and the emulation of the style is superb, with great attention-to-detail. I can only imagine the composer spent a lot of time studying the original tracks. But as musical compositions, the original 3 tracks were superb. IMHO, these two tracks are forgettable. The melodies are weak, and the tracks have an "ambiguous" quality, never resolving. They're not bad pieces of music, but IMHO they would be much better suited to something like a shooting game.
@Retriku Жыл бұрын
Uff, sorry but it looks to me that you're in the minority on this one. I honestly prefer it over the original tracks and is my go-to song for when I need my dose of Outrun action on the Switch or 3DS, at least "Cruising Line" is. Don't get me wrong, the original tracks are good, but I usually forget them in an instant, at least they're better than Jason Brooke's poor renditions on the C64 which some people prefer over the original arcade's soundtrack, believe it or not. Also, if I may be so bold to ask, what Carribean style song would have this type of song in a shooting game with guns? This track definitely suits Outrun, it's like another iteration of "Passing Breeze"!
