Hello Norm, I am glad you have safely made it south of the Brisbane River, I hope you and Wombi are safely moored up for the current weather event in SEQ. It has been terrible seeing pontoons and boats being washed down the Brisbane River. It looks like it has taken many by surprise that are moored in the river, no doubt a mess for authorities with more of the abandoned boats no doubt sunk from the heavy rainfall. Another great video thanks dude.

Another great passage Norm, full of fabulous and meaningful navigation trips. Would like to see a little more focus on daily food prep, would be great to see a post dinner discussions of the days passage highlights with beer and cocktails in hand!

Sounds good Tony, I'll keep it in mind. Probably easier now that Wombi is back. Might look a bit weird if I was sitting there with a beer and talking to myself. Cheers dude.

Ah sooo true BJ.. I do troll a lure on some of the longer trips and love eating mackerel. Not the sort of dude who has to catch fish 24/7 though. I'll try to include a few fishing shots in future. Cheers dude.

Nice video norm , the only way to solve the derelict boat problem is to make sure every boat on the water is insured and registered , also make it compulsory to have them lifted every two years , if not they are crushed and destroyed
@MotorSailingforOldDudes2 жыл бұрын
Makes sense dude, but good luck getting that through. Might see you on the Broadwater sometime. Will probably be around for a few months.

Hi Norm. Love hearing about your adventures. Our plan is to travel around the Whitsundays in two years so your tips are great. Question: When you leave your home berth do you pay while you're away? Regards JJ
@MotorSailingforOldDudes2 жыл бұрын
Hi John. The berth I have at Hope Island is freehold, so I own it the same as I would own any other property. I pay rates and a body corporate fee. This means I can rent it when I away cruising. Helps put fuel in the boat dude.

@@MotorSailingforOldDudes Thanks Norm. Our boat is at a marina at Port Hacking and we are paying $1500/month even when we are gone for a few months. No freehold down this way might have to move north! JJ

Thanks for the comment Jim. I think I am going to be poking around on the Broadwater for a few months, so will endeavour to highlight the nav marks and maybe lights. Thanks for the comment dude.
