My little dachshund puppy who is 8 months now is attached to me most of the time but is very protective and loving of my adult developmentally disabled son Todd who lives with me. He has a special knowing that he's more fragile, and that's a gift. I'll bet your Dad loves that wonderful connection with Hudson too.

This is beautiful. Personally touching. I am a big fan of layered backgrounds. Many people, especially new artists, don't realize that although the background is covered up some of it shows through. You could never pick it out but it is there and the piece would not be the same if it was not.

@@jeannettecomer8739Jeanette, we were basically addressing the background. As far as the focal images, outlining them or shading them with a stabilo pencil helps to bring them forward or if you are meaning fading over time I use a spray fixative. Hope this helps.

Interesting concept using the blending stump. I've never used a stump with watercolor (usually just Gamsol and regular colored pencils or Inktense pencils). Will have to give that a try.

Ooooooh I love her too!!!! Do you have problems with your journal pages sticking together? The finished surface appears dry to the touch and not sticky, is that a function of the products you use or do you finish the page with a spray or anything to stop the pages from sticking together or reactivating if they get damp? I’m new to your channel fan base so I may have missed a video where you talk about finishing the pages so send me to that if you’ve made one. Thank you for sharing your process, thoughts and techniques. Your heart shines through every page - the true reflection of the artist

i do not finish my pages with anything maureen....thank you for asking....if modpodge is the final layer...then sometimes they do get sticky....but after they 'cure' they are no longer sticky...i have used baby powder on some pages if they will not become 'unsticky' tho...or rub a wax candle on the pages....i hope that helps...and welcome to 'our village'....see you on the table maureen!!!

I use wax paper between the dried pages. Really help with sticking.
