Yep, it was cut off in its prime. Some of the stuff planned for season 2/3 would have been really good. The Drakh virus would have been solved by the end of Season 3 from what I've read and some of the storylines involving Gideon sounded very good.

You're not the only one, in fact the series is filled with Blake's 7 references from the Apocalypse Box being basically an evil version of Orac, to Dureena being what you get if you split the difference between Cally and Vila, to Eilerson being basically Avon but with a different skillset. Oh and if the series hadn't been cancelled eventually the Excalibur crew would've become renegades trying to expose a government conspiracy within the Earth Alliance government.

Is a shame what the network do with this series, when aired on Brasil (between 2003 and 2004) the Network aired crusade for a entire year non stop thank to the ratings. Is sad that they are playing a reboot for babilon 5, a show that don't need one and have his history completed and not Crusade that need conclusion.

I remember watching this on TNT the night it aired after watching all of Babylon 5 on TNT. I can't remember if I watched the remaining 12 episodes. TNT were such poor custodians in promoting this thing.

@@TVNostalgia1978 Glad you got it in the UK! Apparently Gary Cole was not the first choice by JMS to play Gideon. I only recently read that the network forced Cole to be cast. JMS thought Cole did his best, but that he was too laconic with his acting style.

Wow I didn't know that, I was always a fan of Gary Cole from Midnight caller and later on from American Gothic. Do you have any idea who JMS wanted to play Gideon?

@@TVNostalgia1978 Michael York was his first choice, but TNT didn't want a British actor in that part. The character would have been a lot different with York for sure. I need to go back and watch all of Crusade now. It's been too long at this point. Did you ever watch Office Space? Cole filmed it around the same time as Crusade and wears the same ring for both parts!

I agree… I feel that the creators of Star Blazers (Space Battleship Yamato) got word of the series and threatened a class action lawsuit. (Copyright infringement if you can tell.) 13 episodes were made and TNT dropped the series. I’m certain that the lawsuit threats were made in secret.

After B5 ,the incidental music in this series was awful ..but the main theme is utterly haunting ...

If anyone remembers correctly, in Babylon 5, the Vorlons asked, "Who are you?" whereas the Shadows asked, "What do you want?" They were both considered to be the last of the First Ones. Now here's mine and my friends' question... there are 3 more questions asked in this show... what First Ones asked those other 3 questions?
