There's a lot of eye-focused acting in both GoT and HotD, and edited eyes or contact lenses (were considered for GoT) would take away from that. Seeing the edited shots in this video doesn't convey as much emotion. I think it would ultimately look cooler but feel shallower, and that's not the point of either show.

Could be, but the thing is that Bloodraven doesn't always wear the eyepatch. He is known to show it off, adding to his fearsome aspect, covered only by his own hair. So why not just have the eye opposite the birthmark covered by hair? Or make it real obvious by giving him the albino look, being real pale with a blood red eye... I'm guessing we see him in the Dunk and Egg show, before he lost the eye. Making him more of a character there, instead of just hearing rumors about him till he shows up?

Like seeing how Bloodraven lost his eye during the 1st Blackfyre rebellion, and not jumping straight to the prevention of Blackfyre 2.0. A flashback when Dunk & Egg meet the old "traitor" knight in book 2, for instance? Showing both him and Bloodraven at the Battle of the Redgrass Field.

I think the point was that prophecies never play out the way you think. Dany was always the villain, her entire arc is wanting to kill and or conquer the entire Westeros cast from the beginning. She was just the best kind of villain; a charismatic leader. And characters are often written like this to wake people up to how one falls for facism and war, you have a leader like Daenerys.

Fire and Blood states that he is more used to follow orders than to give them and that he is kind and humble. So convincing him not to press his claim doesn't sound that impossible. And when it comes to the Black perspective: He had little to do with the Green coup, he was just vibing in Oldtown. Daeron did not steal the throne like Aegon and he did not kill a child of Rhaenyra like Aemond. So convincing Rhaenyra to spare Daeron if he swears loyalty doesn't sound that impossible either, they could even marry him to Rhaena to unite Green and Black.

All things I wanted to see but I didn't get and will not get until next adaptation (which is... probably not in my lifetime): 1) Joffrey trying to avenge Luke and moment with him and his stepgrandparents stopping and comforting him. 2) Alyn and Addam being the same age as Jacaerys and Baela and four of them bonding. (Bonding still can happen - but age of characters will make potential dynamics radically different.😒) 3) Jacaerys being de facto leader of Black faction, much respected by followers, not only figurhead he was in show. 4) Jacaerys and Corlys talk after Rhaenys's death and stepgrandfather/stepgrandson dynamic. (Scene with Baela and Corlys was cool and I'm glad Baela said plain and clear that she doesn't want Driftmark and does not feel robbed by Rhaenyra, but I think it would be even better if Jacaerys had talk with Corlys too like in book. Jace and Baela could be both have tis conversation with their grandfather, future king and queen negotiating together ❤‍🔥❤‍🔥❤‍🔥) 5) Lady Jeyne who is maternal figure to Rhaena, not Ice Queen we got.🥶🥶🥶

Alicent and Criston had as just as much fault with Jaehaerys' death than Daemon if we go by the show. When an assassination attempt happens, who do people blame? Security! We saw it with Trump. You can even see Alicent blame herself and then still has sex with Criston at the end of Episode 2! 🤣 I guess we all must forget what Aemond did to Luke too, huh? Daemon was minding his own business before Alys Rivers screwed with his head and we had to watch 5 episodes of DaemonVision. But I guess she made him into a better person. Alyn has nothing to do with his book countrepart but Corlys and Addam were depicted accurately. Corlys was shown as man who felt weight of his family loses and contemplated abandoning Rhaenyra's cause, until being swayed by his grandchild (albeit different grandchild than in book, as in source material it was Jacaerys not Baela, though Baela no doubt supported this mission given her fierce dedication to Rhaenyra and Jace). And Addam is simply 💋😍 - I loved everyting about him! He is bit older than in book, in 20s rather than teenager, but he is courageous and loyal just like in source material. And he also has this sympathethic aura about him, and cherry at top - he is also incredibly handsome 😅💞🥵

I think the BR differences is done on purpose, they want to make it that this is basically a multiverse. Helaena also says it’s Aemond who will be absorbed by the Gods’ Eye and never be found again, which is at odds with what happens in the book, although it remains to be seen. Maybe Aemond will skinchange Daemon before dying….

I really disliked the indecisiveness and sitting around of nearly everyone this season. If Tywin Lannister was transported back in time to this series he would've won the whole war without dragons simply because he does things while everyone else is standing around with their dicks in their hands.

All things I wanted to see but I didn't get and will not get until next adaptation (which is... probably not in my lifetime) - PART 2: 6) More sentences from Joffrey - I know he is younger than in book, but he was such brave boy in book! 7) Book Jacaerys who is unapologetic about his look and endorses smallfolk, not Jacaerys who flipped his personality with book Rhaenyra. 8) Morning's egg or Morning's hatching.🐲🟣 9) Rhaena living far from war in Vale and this unique perspective. 10) Some confrontation between Jacaerys and Daemon regarding how they view each other. All evidence points to Daemon supports Jace rights and Daemon also seems love Lucerys in his way given how he affectionate called him "Luke", and Jacaerys in s 2 seems to admire Daemon's charisma - yet they had this tense sceen in 1x10 and it would be nice to have conversation between them how things stand and how Daemon feels about Jace succession.

It's a totally out of the box thought, but I wonder if the updated end of Helaena's storyline will involve the Weirwood they added to the KL godswood. Maybe she manages to technically sacrifice herself to the tree and it explains her upgraded prophesy powers and her otherwise unusual connection to green magic?

I know how Haelena will pass. It will be her link to her dragon that causes it. It will be during the riots, led by the Shepard. Her dragon will be under attack and panicked. Haelena will be more in the dragon pit, than with her own body during the attack. She will not mean to throw herself, it will be more of a confused and panicked accident rather than an episode of intentional self harm.

And since aegon said his dragon is dead, I'm hoping the writer's are leaving room for the possibility of Sunfire to return 😣 As for Haelena, i was was very certain Aemond was about to throw her off the balcony in that scene 😅 at the very least, grab her by the neck for a few seconds before letting her go I also wish her dialogue was a combination of cryptic and direct, leaving aemond confused about what his sister just told him, not fully understanding or accepting that she just told him the future

Overall I really enjoyed this season, but nowhere near as much as s1. It was gutted by both having their budget reduced to only enough for 8 eps and then the writer's strike preventing them from rewriting, but I think they did a pretty good job regardless. My biggest issue is how much of Jace's story they cut. We didn't get to see his negotations in the vale and the north so it left him with nothing to do in the first half of the season. If he hadn't returned to Dragonstone until ep 3/4 then it would have done a lot for both his character and the wider story. Him being away for so many of the events of the early season could have had impacted Rhaenyra and have her spiral down further, basically being alone until Jace returned. It could have also led to some good drama between them and Mysaria, with Jace returning to see his mother isolated from the council and only seeking counsel from this strange woman. It's a shame thinking of the season we could have gotten if they hadn't cut those parts of Jace's story.
