Crush and Melt of a big Gold Specimen using a Rock Crusher and a Gold Furnace

Let's find out how much gold is in the big gold specimen I found a while ago. I'll do a specific gravity test before crushing the rock into powder and melting it down.

Glad to see you using a magnet to remove the magnetite. And love that you've ventured into smelting. That's way over my paygrade. Enjoyed this very much. And it's not just 6.7 grams, it's 6.7 "smelted" grams. Of course, Australian gold is very pure as it is. 2nd to South America. But both are buttery yellow, and gorgeous.

Good one, Merry Christmas mate. In Canada our Christmas dinner is usually turkey and ham, I think German dinners vary to venison or rabit? Maybe that is more French. What is an Aussie holiday dinner? Been waitin on this one. I'd have thought that Ginormous SunBaker Specie would have produced a bit more of the shiny stuff just based on appearances. But that "button" sure came out nice ! Still a Win Win in anyone's world. Good lesson on what to look for and how to get Stardust outta the rocks it's attached to. : ) From my experience a Full 14 oz liquid propane cylinder don't like to stay lit when laying on their side. Same is true w/ butane cylinders. The compressed liquid needs to "boil off" into gas to work properly. Laying on it's side allows the liquid propane into the nozzle (instead of boiling off gas), which doesn't mix properly w/ the air and will extinguish itself. Those little holes in the side of the nozzle allow a proper ratio of air to mix w/ the gas and you get the best performance. A half full 14oz LP cylinder will work on it's side because the liquid propane is below the outlet and only gas is boiling off and escaping. Gr8 Show once Again !! Crushing it was the right way to go. Coming up empty here in Arizona even ran drywasher to sample no gold. Going into a different section of the mountains and deeper. Always enjoy your show and Merry Christmas.

I think there is plenty in it to send some to me in South Louisiana, where there is absolutely no gold!! Lol You should look into the aqua rega process too so you can get to gold still locked up in the sulfides too. It's very easy to do.
