Pretty straightfoward puzzle! Solved in 4:30. It remembered me the paper sudoku that sometimes I solve 😅

I find 24 pairs in box 4, 3456 quad in row 8, 1789 quad in col 1. Nice puzzle and nice explanation thanks.

5:34 X-wings on the 8's two ways, eliminate 8's from R2C1 and R8C1 but don't affect the solving path very much. Then 1 in R9C9 (pointing triple in box 6, pointing pair in box 8, 1 in R2C7, 1 in R7C3), which forces 6 in R9C8, 7 in R9C7, and everything afterwards is pretty straightforward. No need for the hidden triple.

I did this in 29:16. I'll have to watch the video and see if there was something I could have improved on. I still think a lot of it has to do with where your eyes happen to go.

No strategy for me. Just dancing through the grid placing locked-in digits (admitedly through restrictions created by pairs. Just under 10 minutes notation free. Take one example: start the puzzle with the 2 in r5c9. Among many other options, your next easy digit might well be the 1 in r9c9, just at a glance... And then, with your next easy 2 in r9c5, you can move all the way to the NW corner of the grid and place your next 2 in r1c1 I find this type of puzzles most enjoyable. Thanks for posting this.

Again, because this was labeled "medium", I tried it notation-free. Didn't get very far before I gave up. Following this, the puzzle was straightforward. No rare tricks or strategies, unless you count a couple quads. (One quad substituted for direct detection of the 89 pair in block 6.) 5:30 I didn't find the X-wing in 8s in my solve. I didn't need it. I suppose that's why you didn't apply it. 5:40 I misremembered. The 89 pair was in block 9, not block 6. 7:40 I got the 789 in row 8 from filling block 7, then noticing the quad in row 8. (I was using the idiot's strategy of centermarking everything.)

Thank you for your insights, John. Some people see the X-Wing quickly. When I was solving this for time, I had a little trouble finding the 789 Hidden Triple, so I wanted to make that the focus of the video.
