Good powerful machine Ive seen them in action to make road gravel. Parts are big and heavy metal to stand the pressure of the rocks being crushed, nice shop area for the repairs. Cheers

I think you should get the professional struggler in Baz and teach him how to weld. He could do with the knowledge no more popcorn welds lol. I can’t believe you told a bloke fresh from his wedding he’s made a big mistake that’s funny hahaha. I do agree with you though it’s foolish these days :)

That’s a hefty repair bill headimg some poor owner operators way no doubt. Those premiums are gonna sky rocket next year no danger. Looking at the top section of the roof that doesn’t look like an easy fix either Baz . Good luck 🤞🏽

Another great video, nice to meet the machine operators also. Maybe they could give some stats on the machines they use such as speed weight it can shift bit like top trumps, plus a bit of schooling and learning for the non construction workers like me who watch each episode since I saw your work with the Asheville bucket rebuild

I'd imagine when you get that deep you just replace everything wearable like you did. No point paying the labour bill again in a year for something else. Top content as always boys 💪👊

within a 15 miles radius of the terex factory in Dungannon you have 75% of all screeners and crushers made world wide , you should get yourself on an welders holiday and do a few factory tours.

Crusher ops should be checking jaws weekly. They never do when they go out on hire without an op

Great to see real men doing real work. Another hard grafter you might want to check out is Copperhead Marine. He runs a lot of older earth moving gear and fixes it all himself too. Loved the sheared bolt episode and your explanations about how some damage occurs. You'd be welcome in NZ with such great attitude and work ethic.

Not gunna lie i really enjoyed working on plant i started on cars but moved on to plant and really enjoyed it i used to look after A40defg volvo dumpers cat D6 ,D8 dozers and all sorts of excavators from 10 ton up to 90 ton and loved it !!! But hated working on crushers and screens !!!!!wear plates side skirts meshes ,hammers,jaws!!!!!la la la used to h8 starting a shift working on em but all part of the fun enjoying watching how u go about things we all have our ways nice one boyz 😊PS do u check the wedge bolts after its done its first shift with new jaw in?i always used to on the finlays we had j1175 s i think they were ,and nearly always would go up about half a turn after 1st use

What strikes me about all these videos is how much all these machines keep breaking down and require repair all the time. Not sure if not being maintained correctly or just plain bad luck

@@davidfenwick5060 Totally get that. Just think these guys spend fortunes on these machines and they need constant attention. Not sure if they fall out of warranty as they seem to do all the work themselves rather than calling out the Manufacturer. Terex for example ,is a massive US Corp surely they have their own maintenance teams on the ground. Maybe Baz can explain why they do everything in house

We have a lot but after a few years a lot of parts need replacing a lot at the same time it may look like they breakdown a lot but its just cause there are so many.

Another good blog,I have never liked that system of holding the jaw in much prefer the wedges that push the jaw down,you could of swap out the top cheek plates while you had it down that far😉keep those great videos coming.

They do the expanding foam truck on the jaw crusher next to my house too. Only thing they do different is they spray some wd-40 in on everything first so the foam has no chance of really really sticking to it. Makes it come out way easier. Granted. If it’s kinda dirty in there with a light covering of dust it has a hard time sticking anyways. But the foam tends to stick to the new parts pretty good. Nice work baz!! Love the videos!!

I use 2 small shackles and a wire rope to install the jaws , works perfect and I don’t have to weld anything ! Just the way I do it, love the videos , keep ‘‘em coming. I work on the terex Finlay crushers. Looks like it’s a little bit different than the power screen type.

Yeah, I always liked the Mccloskey Jaw set up better with the brackets and holes in the middle. That Crusher Chamber has seen some use might have been an idea to change both upper Cheek Plates as well. Next job will be the Jaw-stock Bearings, you just can’t win with Plant. See you on the next one.

Top job Baz, Crew & Director, well explained. Baz/Director, have a look at when the cheek plate was bolted in from the outside, around 25 mins, looked like a crack starting , maybe superficial, could be nothing, in 2 places, noticed rusty water mark on the main grey chassis, cheers.👍

Baz, its none of my business, but just wondering because of the freedom that you have to move and film and have The Director do the filming... do you have your own company withing the Fox Group where you do this maintenance from? Brilliant work on the crusher, good common sense "get the job done" but be safe in the process.

Electrician is my main trade I’m qualified in and do some mechanical and engineering work, I used to do basic plant repairs years ago for my old boss and generator repairs that he had on the firm, In me spare time I’m a motorsport mechanic we compete doing drifting all over Europe, love your videos baz learning new things all the time keep it up mate awesome 👌🏼👍🏼👊🏼
