Thankfully, an honest person when it comes to learning Spanish. Some of the biggest liars on KZbin say they learn Spanish in so many months, weeks, etc. Your realistic goal of 3 years is much better - and as you correctly state - you are still learning. If the viewers will think about it - a 3-year commitment is not bad to get a solid hold on a new language.

As a German with zero Spanish learning background whatsoever, for some reasons I achieved very quickly let's they a mid B2 level. Everytime I was in Spain the people gratulate me for my Spanish and still switched to English. Then things slowed massively down. After a time of 3 to 4 years only few people switched to English. After 6 years I spend my whole vacation there without to have to use my averagely English. I can now interact with the people and have real conversations. I considered myself as fluent. Is it perfect? No! Do I make mistakes? Yes. And I still don't considered it as C1. I am somewhere between. But I am still working on it.

Nice video. I'm a native Spanish speaker, however but you said might be useful for any language learner. You could try Argentinian movies, some of them are very good, they would also improve your capacity to understand a different accent. Greetings from Buenos Aires!

I have used Duoling for 6 months but found and Subscribed to Dreaming Spanish 74 days ago using it every day. Over those 74 days im currently at 325 hours which is allot but its been a really fun experience so far. Currently, the Road Map seems pretty accurate with the explanation of where to expect your Spanish speaking journey to be within each of the 7 levels. I can already understand allot of the advanced dreaming Spanish content but I'm having so much fun with the content designed for my level that I don't feel the need to skip right to advanced videos. Whenever I get those days where I feel like my learning has stalled I watch a video I previously found difficult and I can always comprehend more then I realize I am still improving which gives me motivation to continue learning with the CI method.

Thanks for your insights! I believe there are two areas in which Pimsleur is actually a great resource to include in language learning. First, it really helps you with pronuciation. Second, because it is an audio program you can do it while doing other activities, such as driving, taking a walk, washing dishes, etc.

Great point, it can be convenient! It also does have the advantage of getting your mouth used to making the sounds of your target langauge.

I learned spanish mostly from dreaming spanish. Currently at just under 600 hours of comprehenible input. But i cant tell you how valuable the first 3 levels (90 lessons) of pimsluer were for me. It helped me feel more at home while watching dreaming spanish vodeos and got me familiar with gramatical structures. I speed ran the program so i only paid for 2 months. Thought it was a good value. Im not a language learning expert and have tried no other language learning programs other than pimsluer and dreaming spanish. But no, pimsluer absolutely will not make you converstional

Great video. Keep up the good work! I am learning spanish entirely on my own since 2020 and due to this, my reading skill is the best one, my listening is okay-ish, my writing a bit poor and my speaking nonexistend, to be honest. But I will keep going. Recently watched the Netflix Show "Edha", which is an argentinian fahsion-drama-series and I am also planning to watch "La casa de las flores", which is - as the one I watched - a kinda soft-easy-story series. I am not as skilled in spanish to watch highly complex series in spanish. Finally, I want to recommend the Story Learning Books from Olly Richards to you. They are a really great ressource and recently he and his team have added a topcis that matter series, in which they publish books for learners about relevan topics like global warming or WW2. I am a big fan of those, because you learn vocabulary in context. Best regards or to cambio en espanol saludos dese alemania!

I highly recommend dreaming Spanish on KZbin, it’s made just for comprehensible input. You can ask so try easy Spanish, they do street interviews about everyday topics.

Estoy de acuerdo, eso es exactamente la clave! Si viajas a un otro pais, sin envolucrarte en the cultura, no vas a mejorar.
