I just have so much fun on my wombat. It brings me smiles for miles and that is all that matters!

I just ordered one yesterday. I was thinking about getting a BMX or a trials bike but wanted something i could do on MTB trails. I was going to use my Bridgestone MB-2 for this purpose, but someone ran it over an I have to go and get it straightened. Happy to see people are making bikes that aren't over built or over complicated for those of us who have niche desires. Wanted to get a fixed hub for the rear but Paul only had non fixed hubs in the spec I needes. There needs to be more horizontal dropout bikes like this IMO.

Put a coster brake on it ,I know it sounds crazy but, it cheap and fun CB 110

@@arkoutarkout3654 it occurred to me, I already have the parts coming in, but I do love a good coaster brake. I'm using a Paul word hub for this build, one day I'd like to build a fixed wheel for it so I can do dirtbag cyclist tricks and skid 😁

I don't understand why they got rid of the rear rack mount tho.. kind of erasing standard utility options for no reason I can think of other than forcing the front rack aesthetic

A M12 mounts to the brake mounts and the fork crown. Assuming the Wombat doesn’t have a wacky axle-to-crown length it should work fine.

Kinda fuggin' wild that you made a retro ATB & called it the "WOMBAT" but didn't give Jacquie Phelan a shout-out, like, at all. But you made an homage to Honda motorcycles, though. WTF. L'il bit shameful, really.

Being that I am Australian and have loved wombats since I was a kid, gotta say it did not even cross my mind. Remember those LD stems we did, never hyped it up, but all the profits from those stems went straight to Jacquie and Charlie. But feel free to shit on me some more.

I don't understand the concept of a "single speed MTB"... like why would you want an MTB you can't really climb hills with? What's so over-complicated about a casette and derailleur? It's technology that been around since the cave man days.

@joelogjam91632 жыл бұрын
There are pros and cons to any set up. Single speed will normally be lighter, cheaper, more efficient in its chosen gear ratio, stronger/more reliable/less parts to get damaged in a crash. The downside is you'll have to know how to pick the perfect gear ratio and stick to it no matter what happens.
