Great chanting! One question: some words are differently ordered from the ‘61 Liber that I’m using . (For example: Nulla silva talem vs. Nulla talem silva, and some others.) Are you using the ‘52 Liber? Or some other version? Thanks and God bless!

This was the chant when the faithful venerated the cross, on Good Friday, in the Traditional Roman rite. (1962 missal/ 'Extraordinary form'). I am sure no one ever uses it ever anymore...sadly. It was composed in the seventh century.

Not really. It is most often written that way, but there are two versions. *Dulce lignum, dulces clavos, dulce pondus sustinet* is one version available, and it means something like "sweet wood carries sweet nails and a sweet burden" (yes, literally present tense and two direct objects). The other version reads *Dulce lignum, dulci clavo, dulce pondus sustinens* and it means "sweet wood carrying a sweet burden [with use of] a sweet nail". Both are problematic, because honestly the most correct, gramatically and factually, would be something like *Dulce lignum, dulcibus clavis, dulce pondus sustinebat* which would mean "sweet wood carried a sweet burden [with use of] sweet nails" but then it would be 2 extra syllables (breaking the rhythm and not fitting the neumes)... so I guess both versions available out there are fine.

1988 llegué donde un japonés en Lima que fabricaba artesanalmente aparatos electromagnéticos que me sanaron de mi hígado asma y acne y nunca más regresé a la clínica que lo único que hacían era empeorarme. En 2 dias sané y veia otras personas tambien. Y cada fin de mes el sr Omote daba una charla y se hacian estos cánticos. Era maravilloso. Lo que el nos decia que ese idioma latin venia desde la epoca de Jesus y tenia una vibración de vda enorme. Ahora a mis 52 años aún sigo utilizando mi aparato electromagnético cuando duermo sintiendo esa energía de vida que me reconforta y acompaña. Amen.
