I have a throttle limit mapped to a knob on my radio. I find it super useful to be able to dial back the power with the twist of a knob when I need to. JB has a video on how to set up the mix in your radio, might be worth checking out.

That would definitely help this thing out a bit - it’s not something I couldn’t get used to but it was definitely a shock when coming from normal heavier quads

I just flew the Crux 35 this weekend and had just 4 batteries (4 Tattu 650 mAh) with me expecting to fly 20 minutes in total. I flew for over an hour. The flight time is crazy :D

How? I have the same configuration and I only get about 20 ish minutes ;-;

Had a Crux35 for 24 hours, flew 5 packs and on my last did a horizontal 360 and lost my bearings... full send into a tree stump and blew it into 3 pieces! Insanely powerful coming from whoops. Ripped the guts out and put it on a FlyFish volodor 3.5 frame, still seems to fly great with the extra 40g
@MoeFPV6 ай бұрын
The crux35 is definitely weaker when it comes to crashing - that frame just unfortunately can’t keep up with the hits. The crux35 is still one of the most insanely powerful quads/per weight I’ve flown
@Sk8WineMedia6 ай бұрын
@@MoeFPVhad a few hits with the flyfish, strongly recommend this frame as a replacement. Somehow it also survived tyre water too after powering off…

I had one of the v2 analog versions and after replacing 8 bottom plates I had enough. I broke an arm just landing hard on asphalt once. I was sad when I gave up on it because it is still the best flying bind and fly I ever had.

8 PLATES!? Wow that’s a lot , I also would have gotten rid of it at that point. Where you on analog at the time ? I usually fly near trees and grass so a bit of a safe environment

Nice build, review and ripping Moe! I got an analog version on a black Friday deal and installed a 500mw WS kit in it and this quad is incredible! Like you said, ridiculous flight times with this platform... I'm getting 9-10 minutes on 650mah 4s packs.. Love you vids Moe! 🙏

Thanks Chrys ! I had a WS build at one point but I ended up converting it out .. I should really give it another chance because at that point I was using the VRX on a pair of box goggles that essentially tripled the latency !

Crux35 is indeed the GOAT BNF for micros from the GOAT of all micros, Happymodel. Awesome review as always bro! The thing about most overpowered micros like this is that the throttle can get a bit too touchy and I'm too lazy to add expo on my throttle 😅😅
@MoeFPV10 ай бұрын
Very true ! I have yet to experiment with a throttle curve but I think that would definitely be a good solution for this thing - I can sorta get used to the throttle response after a few packs but it’s so far off my other muscle memory on heavier quads it just messes with me lol maybe I’ll explore some throttle curves in the near future 🤔
@JohnyPatrick10 ай бұрын
This is nice! I saw your Crux 3 video and I now own a Crux 3. It is amazing how that quad is! A silent ripper which I love and prefer over the 5 inch screamers. I love your videos on the mobula 8 and flylens 85 and I know the 85 performs better with naked o3 but I'd love to see if you would have the time to do a full o3 on the flylens. Hoping that the happymodel mobula 8 has the edge in that regard but anyways your videos have helped me a lot with my whoop choices. I like the freestylish sorta flying and prefer smaller quads to rip and not the loud ones that require a football field to fly. However, if you could do that video that would be awesome. You could do it along with a comparison between those quads. You've spoken about them but not in a comparison! Love the videos! Keep them coming! Your stick skills are good. I've not seen a single reviewer use these cinewhoops without prop wash but you nailed it so well!
@MoeFPV10 ай бұрын
Glad you’re enjoying the crux 3! I absolutely love the 1s 3” toothpicks. I will definitely have some more builds coming soon. And I’m working on another cinewhoop video right now but maybe after that’s out I can do a roundup video ! I will tell you now though probably the best flying BNF out of the box is the flywoo , mostly due to the lighter weight of the naked VTX though. The Pavo allows you to go Ductless a little easier though , if that’s your thing. It’s a very unique platform. Thanks for the kind words!
@JohnyPatrick10 ай бұрын
@@MoeFPV yes I'm relatively new so I went for the mobula8 o3 for some safe ripping and pavo20 o3 for some o3 freestyle (like it wants to freestyle haha) after using the crux 3 and my tinywhoops to get very good at it I'll try to go ductless on the pavo20 or get another o3 for freestyle needs in the 3 inch or 3.5 inch as I prefer smaller and noise free builds and not into 5 inch cause it's loud and all. I like the emax babyhawk o3 3.5 inches but not yet decided

@@MoeFPVYeah, in the crux35 frame. They are pretty overpowered. 550mah 6s batteries. I originally swapped the frame from the 6s DarwinFPV Baby Ape II. But I've swapped the FC and VTX out now. The motors are so cheap I decided to build a walksnail version of it too.

You can fit a full vista in there without making it naked!! The added weight = insta death to the frames though.
@MoeFPV10 ай бұрын
Yes they actually sell a version with the full vista - that poor frame ..
@BusDriver8410 ай бұрын
I added a Vista to to the analog version. Any impact beyond landing was a broken arm. I ended up changing to a standard 3.5" frame - I do miss the weight and efficiency.
@ChrisHarmon110 ай бұрын
Crux35 is one of my favorite due to the flight time to performance ratio. Sadly fitting an 03 camera is a total PITA if you want to mount the camera out front vs on top of the frame. With front mounted camera my 3.5" props hit, so 3" is max unless you mount the 03 camera where the action cam would normally go. I don't use any action cameras or do any recording, just don't like idea of a whoop style canopy on a Crux35...
