Shoigu Real Target Of Russian Corruption Arrests, Deputy Made "Scapegoat" Amid Kremlin Power Games?

A graft scandal centered on allegations against a close ally of Russia’s defense minister has become a subject of intense speculation. Sergey Shoigu’s Deputy, Timur Ivanov, was arrested on April 23 on charges of taking bribes.But experts say Ivanov may just have be the latest Russian official to be embroiled in the Kremlin’s power intrigues.
The action against Shoigu’s closest allies came on the eve of Putin’s inauguration for a fifth presidential term next week. The Russian president is expected to reshuffle his cabinet which may see some new faces inducted into the government. Therefore, Ivanov’s arrest is widely interpreted as an ominous sign for Russia’s longtime Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.

Shoigu is or was one of Putin's probably few personal friends. Another reason that Putin may for now not leave him fall, is that he is of the few non-Russian ethnicity in the top ranks. He is Buriat, and his presence is probably necessary to facilitate recruitment in East and Far East Russia among the diifferent ethinicities of Asian origin. Shoigu himself has a USD 130 million house, difficult to justify regardless of hisd years of service as a public servant.

Actually, Shoigu is of mixed origin. His father was Tuvan (Tuvinian Turk), while his mother was Ukrainian. Shoigu is hated by many Russian nationalists.

Wrong! Prigozhin’s military actions,against the Russian MoD and/or Kremlin,was motivated by the fact that they tried killing him and his men for evacuating Bakhmut. Prigozhin also made references to Gerasimov, about negligence, not just Shoigu.
