Ukraine's Western allies should lift restrictions on delivered weapons, allowing Kyiv more freedom to hit targets in Russia, the Lithuanian foreign minister said. In an interview on May 20, Gabrielius Landsbergis backed French President Emmanuel Macron's proposal that military trainers be sent to Ukraine. Landsbergis said that the Western military trainers present in Ukraine before Russia's 2022 invasion should return to speed up the training of new forces. Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky also urged the West to shun fears of escalation and allow Ukrainian strikes inside Russia.
