When you watch the fight a second time you can see Romero just tying/hugging from the first moments of the first round. It was not clinching, because Pitbull was smothering his work; rather hugging just because.

you won't see him in the future Shakur Stevenson fights for sure, Shakur likes to extend his jab without pulling it back then throw a right hand to the body at the same time which is basically a double punch, he also loves to tie his opponents up like he's in a grappling contest which is exactly what this referee hates to see while he's in charged.

Romero’s biggest issues as a fighter is his footwork and fight IQ. Romero is constantly crossing his feet, overstepping or false stepping and it leads to him being incredibly vulnerable to blitzes and aggressive fighters who can put up a high guard and place pressure on him. His fight IQ has been shown to be a problem because Romero simply can’t gameplan to properly engage elite fighters in ways that don’t play directly into their game. He simply has talked himself into a much bigger position than he deserves at both 135 and 140 lbs.

The only reason I agreed tank shouldn’t rematch before was because he gained nothing, but Pitbull has a belt now. He’s worth beating for the title. But tank just scared Fr.
