Thanks Jim! You cover some of the exact things I wondered about the cruzbike especially the turning and how the legs had to react to it. You make it seem like the learning curve isn't as tough as it was made out to be. Look forward to seeing the difference in climbing as that is my struggle now and when I get left behind.

Great tips, especially about keeping the legs in while turning. I also went from Bacchetta to Cruzbike. On the Bacchetta, I had a habit of coasting with one leg outstretched - pedals at 3 oclock / 9 oclock position. It's very difficult to steer a Cruzbike with pedals in this position. As you say, it's better to pedal through turns, or if you must stop peddling, hold the pedals at a 1 oclock / 7 oclock position.

I have been riding a V20 since 2018. IMHO all of the awkwardness of the MBB happens at very low speeds. The MBB does not have the turning radius of a DF so you have to live with that. At the slowest speeds I always have my right foot unclipped and am only pedaling with the left leg. This works in all situations except starting on a hill.

I reached the same conclusion regarding the pedals and turning. You must do the exact opposite between diamond frames and CruzBikes. After decades of doing it one way, I have had some spectacular near-misses trying to make the transition.

I keep pedalling when turning on my V20. I've also found that it helps to look in the direction where I want to go and to lean slightly my body to the outside of the turn. Practicing regularly figure 8 at various speeds makes perfect!

Which do you prefer the Bishetta or the cruzbike? Design, riding characteristics, stability, speed, overall performance?
