torque spec is turning it till it stops go further and wreck it.

You really need to hold the filter housing from moving when you loosen and tighten it so you don't damage the fuel lines or break the housing or the mounts. They are delicate.

ya, mine has so much play in the mount that it twists right out of the mount. its impossible to change the filter with out removing the entire assembly and placing in a vice. the first 3 filter changes were fine, but now its impossible. ive contimplated CNC machining an aluminium mount, but havent actually made progress with that.

Sygma6 the housing is like a 150$ on rockauto so it’s probably 4 or 500$ at the dealer

I believe the center of that 36 mm nut has a 13 mm drain plug . You drain the fuel before removing it from the car.

GM sucks...so many things on this car are wrong. This filter needs a water drain, and heater around it for cold starts.

You should do one where the shop who changed it last torqued the cap down way to much, I'm here trying to not break the housing and lines cuz Chevy decided to use plastic mounts for the filter.

omg, right!? mine slipps out of the cheap plastinc attachment every time i do a change. so now what i do is i remove the entire housing and put it in a vice. such a pain in the ass!

Can you put a lift pump on a Cruze diesel just like they do the diesel trucks?

Will all the diesel in the tank be drained out when the filter is removed?

no, only what is in the line from the filter to the pump.... less than 12 oz. but i havent measured exactaly how much. just open the drain plug in the filter housing (inside the big nut ) and let it drain. less messy that way.

@@xephael3485 it's not exactly the same. Located on driver's side. In front of rear wheel and there's no aerodynamic cover in the way. Besides that, it's the same and very easy to do.

Gas variant is a screen the tank which will never be changed for the life of the vehicle😂 should have gotten the diesel🤣

how often should u change the fuel filter on 2013 cruze diesel 2.0? I don't know when it was changed the last time. and Im having issue with my car after 30 mins of driving the car loses its pickup and cant even drive in the 3rd gear without stalling and after doing some googling I think its the clogged up fuel filter but im not sure and the machine said it doesn't and fuel filter change cuz I have less only 52k on my car. so can anyone tell me how often do u change fuel filter on this car?

The car tells you when it’s time to change the filter. Use the menu button on the turn signals. Then twist the switch on the turn signal to toggle between windows.

@@OwnYourOwnBus101 it was not fuel filter not even close. it was actually the brake calipers they were heating up and grabbing up on the brake disk its common issue for cruse in India, I got lucky tho cuz it could have damaged my wheels they are imported LOL

I thought the Jetta or the 2007 Jeep GC filter sucked! Its bad enough you have crap that needs to be changed under the car, but the common maintenance items... not cool!

It's a VM Moteri an Italian diesel. The 3.0L is in the Ram ecodiesel.
