The noise of the aggressive knobs was a deal breaker for me. Went with the tethrd predator. The Cruzr XC saddle however is sooo good!

Lots of noise....maybe the combination of those boots and the stand itself? Or bark? I can hear it popping quite a bit.

Got the Mission last Christmas as a gift, ended up cuting it down, now is about the same size as the Predator XL, don't miss the "extra real estate" at all, size 12 boots, fits great, Mission quality in a more compact size.

Thanks for an honest, thoughtful and thorough review. I have the gen 2 original size predator platform, I bought two squirrel steps to put on the predator’s strap and will see how that works out this year.

@@SaddleHunter good I am glad to hear that someone else has done that successfully. I like to be a minimalist to a point as well, certain items are worth the weight though i.e. Doyles Hoist and Ropeman’s. I cannot justify the extra weight and bulk of all the new larger platforms, or at least not yet.

He must be less than 150lbs. Didn't matter how tight I strapped and cammed mine to a tree it would push away from tree. Strap position is too high on the post. Bolt for the bracket not too long. B/S What are you climbing for tree a tooth pick?

How do you like the EDP? Looking into that or the mission.
@bubbaboulware36103 жыл бұрын
@@whitewood2000 I think its great. For reference I have size 10 boots. I equate it to standing on a standard 12x12 floor tile. Plenty of room. The boot grabs are great. The adjustments are easy as far as leveling or tilting the platform. I will say the best thing imo is that I feel like it carries much lighter than it's advertised weight. For reference I use a "standard" single panel saddle and 4 mini sticks. For me, the mission would be unnecessary. The edp is plenty comfortable and more than enough surface area.

@@whitewood2000 no problem man. I'm no expert just getting started myself. I almost pulled the trigger on the XC but decided I didn't think I needed the extra space in the pleat. If I'm a fan of saddle hunting this fall I may end up upgrading to a 2 panel

Great review, thorough! Have you had any issues with the Seeker platform when it's wet (or dry)? Other platforms have "grippy knobs" on the sides (ie Tethrd Predator and Trophyline EDP) but the Seeker's sides are smooth (except on top which has grippy knobs). Any slipping when hanging off at an angle? Are you using the Seeker or Predator more when you hunt? How does the Seeker compare to the Predator XL? Are the noisy knobs really an issue? After some time "in the saddle" and on the platform, do you think the slopped front is really useful or would it be better to just have more flat real estate?
