Crye Precision Nightcap Overview: Night Vision Setup that Fits in Your Pocket

Quick overview on something that was shown in one of my other videos, the Crye Precision Nightcap. The better way to get into head mounting your nightvision in my opinion, especially when you don't want to advertise you have a helmet with you. Goofy, but functional.

Couldn’t agree more. I live in the desert SW, and it’s BY FAR better than a bump in hot weather. Also, being able to easily wear with normal ear pro is nice. I’ve been running one for a couple years now. I’ve got a giant head, and with the adjustments maxed out, it fits perfectly, which is a little surprising.

Ops core h harnesses can easily replace the subpar harness it comes with. Totally worth the money. It really comes into its own with a light set of anvis and a battery pack

If its stupid but it works, its not stupid. I have one myself and I always carry it in my EDC bag it helps with the weight and a lot better than carrying a bump or ballistic helmet here in the Caribbean.

To your point on weight being a factor in the ballistic versus bump debate, every time someone holds my Opscore maritime ballistic with strobe, G24, and peltors mounted to it, they're blown away by how light it is. Same with my buddies crye airframe. To me, if you're going to protect yourself from impacts, just get a modern ballistic helmet from a reputable manufacturer (provided you can afford it). If you just need something to mount nods to, crye nightcap or the ops core skull crusher are the way to go. They have surface for mounting IFF devices, counterweights/battery packs, and can interface with communications headsets without causing significant discomfort on the part of the end user. I think too many people look at these and think of the old USGI skull crusher systems that came with the PVS-7's and PVS-14's and refuse to give systems like the nightcap a try. Good overview video

I put my 14 in an issued canteen insert then put that inside the night cap. Aka2 mount gets put in the rear and the whole package can fit in a 200rd saw pouch like you said.

The nightcap is great. I modded mine with an OpsCore H-Nape chinstrap and it made a world of difference. It requires an absurd amount of counterweight though.
