ye spray bottle w water in it should do it. even when the cat does something that she isn’t suppose to, we spray her once right away so she/he knows it’s off-limits. The kittens are still young so better get them away from making bad habits early on

I don't recommend the spray bottle because they'll keep doing it when you're not there. Also my cat just started bracing herself for it, and wouldn't leave. I'd say hiss at them, communicate the way they do. Also aluminum foil on the counters, or double sided tape. Make the sensory experience bad.

Nobody is talking about “ohh oopsie I forget what time it is 😔 😔 feel bad for me when I’m late.” We’re talking about people with different life experiences than you, different neural pathways, different PEOPLE. Whose experiences you don’t have to understand, but going by statistics you likely have coworkers, friends, parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins who are literally, either from birth or environment, wired completely differently than you. I’m glad you have the privilege of passing judgement on people like Kelsey, I’m glad you don’t have these deep-rooted experiences that impact your self worth. No one is asking for your sympathy, but a little bit of empathy goes a long way - that being, acknowledging humans are capable of having experiences different from you and not everyone is just “making excuses” simply because you don’t understand what it’s like for them. You want people who show up late to do better? How about you do better?

Being consistent with a little push off the counter immediately and being stern with “no”has always worked the best for my cats. If I walk into the room, they immediately know to get down. It takes patience and it’s hard when you aren’t home. Sometimes tinfoil or the sticky side of tape will keep them off.

some cats are deterred by tin foil on countertops and is hilarious to watch, but some cats aren’t bothered by it 😭 best of luck to you! We used a little water in a spray bottle to keep our kittens off the counter. After a couple of sprays, they don't go up there much anymore. If they see the bottle, they associate it with the spray and instantly get down. Not in their face, though... We tried tin foil and they just walked on it like it wasn't even there.

We’ve always used spray bottles to give a quick spritz and a firm no when they get into or onto something they aren’t supposed to. We never have trouble with them on the counters anymore! We also try to not keep food out in the open on the counter when we aren’t around just in case. I’ve also hear putting tape sticky side up or tin foil on the counters overnight to deter them getting up there when you aren’t around.

Girl, ever since I started school I have been late to work almost every shift 😩 and then I’m home late to make my family dinner and I feel like I’m constantly letting the people I love and respect down. I’ve been a career cook/chef for the better part of the last 8 years, and ive just started using hello fresh this year. The food is always good, by the time I’m done. But as someone who cooks for a living, the hellofresh model is only user-friendly to someone who doesn’t know how to cook yet/has never cooked as a job in a sit down restaurant. Maybe I’ll make a video about it one of these days. Maybe it’s only a problem for me because I’m a poor with a tiny kitchen, and since I’m used to commercial kitchens it’s even worse, idk. as someone who is always anxious and late i completely understand how you feel, but it's okay!!! there will always be other things in the future to show up for and regardless it shows that you care and that's enough!!! also about ur cats getting on the counter, our cat does this too & we eventually realized that he just wants to take a sniff of everything and then leave or sit and watch so we let him do that without getting too close or touching anything. he also used to walk over the oven a lot and i'm not sure what made him stop to be honest but luckily he did before any accidents happen (maybe he realized that it gets hot). i heard some people would put split lemons or keep the counters lemon scented because cats hate the smell of them. cucumbers work too but they could just end up attacking them lol.
