For those curious, the quote read during "Identity Theft" is from Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot, chapter sixteen. "When I was a child, my most exultant dreams were about flying - not in some contraption, but all by myself. I would be skipping or hopping, and slowly I could pull my trajectory higher. It would take longer to fall back to the ground. Soon I would be on such a high arc that I wouldn't come down at all. I would alight like a gargoyle in a niche near the pinnacle of a skyscraper, or gently settle down on a cloud. In the dream - which I must have had in its many variations at least a hundred times - achieving flight required a certain cast of mind. It's impossible to describe it in words, but I can remember what it was like to this day. You did something inside your head and at the pit of your stomach, and then you could lift yourself up by an effort of will alone, your limbs hanging limply. Off you'd soar. "

Exact words to describe the undescribeable, it's a feeling you live in your dreams, a feeling of drive of pure will, like in your own matrix world. The things i've seen and the poeple I've meet, voices I heard singing, dragons flying in the sky, 7 pillars of light on an altar, it was a beauty, reading symboles, I've had so many lives, I can't remember them all, despite the everyday predictability of physics, we still don't know shit about much except time is short, time is only an instant, WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF IT ? Enjoy while you still can !
@artimis154 жыл бұрын
I still remember that feeling so clearly. I didn't know anyone else had that. It was dipping and diving under water and shooting out again for me. But that moment, I know what he means. I couldn't describe it better than him but the memory rings like a bell through my mind.

The world needs another Carl Sagan. A grand visionary who could communicate with the people. We are a much diminished "pale blue dot" without him on it. He opened up the vast emptiness and infinite wonder of the universe to me with his words, we are all formed of star stuff and to star stuff we will all return.

@@sargonixofur1234 The world doesn't need another Carl Sagan, let it be Carl Sagan be the only Carl Sagan ever to be. What the world needs is to pay attention to those who are worth it and be and do greater by him and spawn other great minds that will still take it to another level. But I completely understand your point of view, RIP Carl, you helped us step into the dark unknown with a smile and a curious brain, compelled to think and reflect upon our surroundings in unimaginable ways, dreaming our way through. But this COVID shit though, although not as deadly as other pandemics we have faced before and other nuke crisis and shit, gotta make you wonder, just how much more will we ever be able to really accomplish before our end as a species with what seems to me forever exponentially growing odds against us :!

To the people that listen to dark ambient, your my kind of people. You don’t find it disturbing and your not weirded out by it. You enjoy the emotion it gives you like as if it was from a film that is dramatic in a way of sorrows or just comfort. It doesn’t always have to be related to horror, it can just be the soft ambient it gives out that is called dark for a reason. Yet we all are here and each one of us are mysterious that listens to this including myself, I always loved dark ambient. Even just use it to either sleep or play open world games being by myself. (Edit) it’s like the dark ambient speaks in hieroglyphic words that we cannot understand only our mind and soul knows, the only thing we understand is the emotions it gives us that makes us think on a spontaneously deeper level, and that is what I call.....Meditation. Putting the reality to the side of what’s really going on and focusing on your thoughts of what comes into mind, and letting it run and make you think outside the box. It truly is mysterious how powerful our minds can be just by letting our brain focus on music on a deeper level.
@anantc884 жыл бұрын
Not sure it works that way. All the vivid images of everything that's gone wrong and is going wrong pop up. That the only hope is that all of it might come to a close as the world dies is a calming thought but not a good one so not exactly meditation.

I agreed the calming music somewhat with beautyfull melancholic tones that is definely mysterious music in symbolic sense of the world _ending.but the end of the world is indeed not evil thing but the way the end can be is sometimes evil for someone or some living beans but every beginning good or bad have a end it is fate.nothing is forever because one thing is certain decay is the real eternal victor in existence.even the stars goes one time go to die and disapear likewise in to the far future ouer earth go to consumed by ouer expanding old sun and exploded.ouer cosmos go trillions of years later became empty and totally cold and dark as dead itself.it is a good thing that everything have his of her time to came in existence and go to disappear to nothingness to sleep dreamless forever without any burden of became aware of conscious as existent presence like before birth.than eternal peace preceed wit no more pain suffering evil good pleasure survival dividing or anxiety or safety only resting in peace of calmly nothingness.it is good al that experience as existent form but it is also good nothing is forever and everything cames to end to the good as to the bad things to the superior neutral laws of nature everything that exist in time and space is equal and one connected thing because it ending over time.

A message of comfort in times of trouble. For every problem, every turmoil: the answer is History. To see the future, you must know the past. Understanding the past, brings understanding of the present. Understanding both, predicts the future. Humanity has faced many, many plagues before. Plagues far worse than Covid-19. Plagues that killed more people, in a short time, than those who survived. Human life continued. Every civilization that has ever existed, eventually collapsed. Human life continued. Each painful, costly, and deadly step of the way, we as a species survived, and with each set-back, we gained valuable understanding, and came back stronger, and more knowledgeable than before. Everyone who reads this, will die eventually. But life will continue.

You can see all the world's boiling, all it's energy at only two times, when it is created, and when it comes to an end. Think about life. When you were a child, everything seemed magical, every new thing seemed to come from a world you wouldn't have imagined before, and there was an amazement while discovering it. You will have the same kind of wonder when you die, looking at all the things you'll never be able to experience again. These times are the ones when you can feel every part of the beautiful world we live in, but I might have lied about something... You are actually able to recreate this feeling of amazement in other times of your life, but to do so, you have to work on your awareness of the world. You need to focus on the beautiful aspects of the world : people you love, the beauty of nature, the expression of the artist through their art... Meditating is a good start, and if you don't know how to meditate, just sit in silent darkness and listen to your inner self. If you can raise your awareness of your surrounding environement, you will be able to live moments of amazement again I wish you the most wonderful day/night

[Real Story on how I love the apocalypse and what I think lead up to it] Since I was a child, I was really into action movies, like Micheal Bay levels of action where there's explosions everywhere, sure people in the movie were scared but I really liked it. Than I gotten into horror with Creepypasta's and SCP's. They gave me, an unsettling feeling when watching a video on them, and I'm like talking about like 2012 to 2014 so their popularity was booming or lasting. But I never really gotten into horror because it didn't hook me with crazy theories. Around the same time I really liked the movie 2012 and Transformers Dark of the Moon because... it was something I didn't see before. Than I discovered FNAF, like back when the game was like 2 weeks old, when all the youtubers were playing it giving it rockstar level popularity amongst the internet, the ambiance, horror and questions I had ended up leaving me stay with the franchise till today. 2013, E3. The first time I discovered an E3... what is this? Oh video games! What is this Destiny game? I had questions and why I was hooked on the dissolute atmosphere. But this is a style I am quickly getting into like Fallout New Vegas and 3, Last of Us. So I was getting quite used to it. 2014, lots of games but one gotten my eye- Tom Clancy's The Division, it had action, and a world I recognized but in a destroyed state, so in 2016 I played it and than forgot about it but the atmosphere in that game kind of sealed the apocalypse feeling for me. Of course I looked for other atmospheric apocalyptic games and eventually noticed that it's really an art style so I decided to make a universe but to make it different than the stuff I listed... I basically made a worse case scenario like Yellowstone Volcano erupting- no All of the super volcanoes erupting, nuclear warfare- nope Viruses, famine, civil disorder. This would end up creating "Post Rapture", an idea that I'm hoping to write about in the future, the time period of the book would range from 2015 to 2035, start of everything going bad to when the world is finally recovering but will remember it. If I was to describe the atmosphere of Post Rapture, it has an Last of Us and classic Fallout feel with some bits of The Division in it. The book would be like a fictional journal of a man called "The Wonderer" collecting other journals- family diaries, notes, pictures of someone's loved ones; it's gonna be really hard to pull off but I think I can do it.
@hetecks13852 жыл бұрын
More on Post Rapture. It's meant to be a realistic take too, using reference of the atomic bombs on Japan in WW2, pandemics, how would a country would fall apart and much more catastrophic disaster events. I think the title is appealing because there's a certain release in saying "the world is dead," or as good as dead, (and by "world" we could just as mean one's personal life) because them you don't have to try and fix it. In contrast, if you say the world is gorgeous and wonderful, then there's a need to preserve it or get something out of it. A dying world is freed from responsibility which yields the unsuspecting beauty of stillness, transience, and spontaneity. And this has a way of alleviating one's mood so that the good of the world can be made visible again.

One kind of World is dying: the world of greed, selfishness, direspect, sleepy mind ... but a better one is waiting for us, we just need to change our mind and in our soul. @@cryochamberlabel interesting how come copy right isn't an issue? also instead of using mods i just use my steam overlay web browser to listen to the albums i like for example i listen "dark gothic" "steampunk" "fallout" albums etc. for fallout games. i just mute the music and let it play on the background. anyone who plays fallout 76 / 4 should try those i mentioned above. it really feels more like a fallout game. sure those games have excellent soundtracks but saying that they are "out of place" would be too kind. for comparison listen listen to "metallic monks" or "vats of goo" from the original fallout games.

@mortallychallenged14364 жыл бұрын
@@merihaday5067 You are right, you could simple play it in the background but there is an advantage if you have a mod that integrates it in the ambient music. When exploring places there is sometimes a short music clip that sounds like"this used to be a nice place full of dreams of a prosper future, now it looks like *insert badly managed city*"( I don't know the title). Or some areas do fit for a particular set of soundtracks better, like in Nuka World the space themed part(it cries on how much potential for this civilization was lost). As far as I know ambient sound packs can do that. If you don't need/ want that, thats fine. The OST are not bad, but like with modded soundtracks you need a change once in a while. Now about the copyright issue, I would pay for such mod as long you can use the titles also on other devices( like you pay for good music). But like often with paid mods, patreon is a pain in the ass, I just want to buy the one mod, and not getting drained every month. The Creation Club is cancer since it ruins your modded game. I personally like the "space" themed song better since they are less dominant in the mood they set.

It reminds me of a place I lived. It as in the country in the northwest. It would snow and...there were always empty mountains and woods for hundreds of miles, devoid of human life. Nothing but the wind sometimes as the snow crunched under my feet, my bow and quiver on my back as ny breath became frost. It wasn't dead...but it was alive simply in a different way. Sometimes things have to die to become the fertile soil upon which life may grow again.

"In the short term, we will have conflicts. Power, money, morality, even the definition of self-worth, we will all have these conflicts one day and to some, it seems like the end of the world. In the long tern, the universe will cool down, matter will spread so far apart that future civilisations may never get to see the stars at all, and eventually, everything will return to the lowest possible state of energy - void. Whether you live in the here and now, with conflicts about the material, or in the long term, with conflicts and fears of the existensial, some few things are relevant to us all. However you look, however you think, and however you feel right now, remember that there are still some absolutes that will affect us all: Grass will grow, the wind will blow, the tides will rise and fall, and still the world will turn."

In some far off distant corner of the galaxy thousands of light years away, in a dwelling on a small, cold, dark planet circling a dimly glowing, blood-red dwarf star sits a creature, unable to rest, flipping through spacetube, and happening upon this video. It looks out it's window into the gloomy, shadow-strewn 'day', seeing dim pale red streaks bracketed by inky black shadows across the landscape amidst it's icy dead world. With a depressed sigh thinks- "Finally, it's my jams".

This sound speaks to my soul. I find it oddly comforting. I wonder in what alien window and with what feline analog I might have once sat to watch the end descend in a languorous curtain of ash and grief?
@rgj58323 жыл бұрын
The sound speaks to us because many of us have only the hope that the total collapse will finally give us peace. Hope for peace for some of us is only the fires and destruction of a total stop. As many are caught in an unbreakable prison of our daily life. Unable to change things for the better despite great efforts because the circumstances are outside our control. Finding peace in the destruction of this prison is our only real hope.

It's unknown where I came from, when I came to fruition to life. Void of anything around me, but I know that I exist. Without purpose, no goal... I know nothing, but I understand nothing. I can tell you anything you want in the universe and you still gain nothing. I could give you the power to rule the world as you see fit, but you will achieve nothing. Nothing, is all I understand. But, it seems you have arrived here with no knowledge as well, but you understand nothing, and knowing nothing. So... Who are you? What are you? Do you know you even existed in the first place? Do you even know what nothing is? I came to ask you myself, because... Nothing can be achieved without anything. Yet, you came from nothing. And I been here since the dawn of time, the end of the rebirth of this infinite cycle of life. I don't need to soil you with words that can overbear your mind with such trivial things. You exist for a reason, yet... you're here for nothing... Why is that? I don't understand at all... Just like the void we see around us... Dark, like an abyss. Unrelenting to absorb anything of color or life. Wanting... You came from something, my dear self. And you have something to ask of nothing you know of... So, let me ask you, and myself, a question... Is there nothing to life, or is there nothing without life? Confusing, it is, but... You know nothing. And you understand nothing. We are nothing. Until... We become something.
