Hey everyone! I made a minor error with the Tomb Raider results in this video. The short story is that I accidentally used an incorrect MangoHUD config and the results weren't granular enough to capture every frame, but the corrected tests are still in-line with what was seen here. If you're interested in reading more, or seeing the corrected results, please see the Reddit post here: www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/11ovfpa/a_disclaimer_about_the_cryoutilities_2_launch/ I'm sorry for the error!

Hey cryo I downloaded cryoutilities for my steam deck and set it to your recommended settings in an attempt to fix a crashing issue I’ve been having with ghost recon breakpoint but after changing the settings in cryoutilities the game wouldn’t even start up after reverting back to stock the game runs again but the memory leak issue persists :/ I understand it’s not your job to find a fix but if you may know or would be interested in looking into a way to fix this issue for breakpoint I’d appreciate it

This has been a literal game changer for me. I was beginning to get frustrated at uneven performance across certain games where it felt like the deck just wasn’t utilising it’s full potential. With the new huge page settings, it appears that I can play Witcher 3 for hours with the smoother framerate of huge pages, and without the 10s long compaction thrashing events that used to occasionally happen when using huge pages alone without the defrag/compaction settings. The last CryoUtilities you did was simply incredible -- but then you went above and beyond supercharging it into EVERY DECKER'S #1 ESSENTIAL TOOL! Hats off and mad props to you, good sir!!! Thank you!!! 🎉 One thing I wish you elaborated a bit more on here was the shader cache / compat data section of the video. I've heard some people recommend moving them off the internal drive and yet others warned doing so may negatively impact performance. I suppose the consensus here is that "it depends" largely on the performance characteristics of the SD card (if not using an external SSD) and which game you're playing. Very nice to see you address this already in the comments from those that brought it up. You're awesome. 👍

Hey CryoByte! I remember being suspicious of this when I first heard about it, but saw so many people speak highly of you and gave it a shot. Many weeks later: I see why people adore you, as a person and creator. Not only do you produce fantastic game changing videos, but you’re so active and friendly with the community. You take so much time on Reddit and KZbin to explain things to people, even the ones being mean or skeptical to you. You’re deserving of a community award if anything. From one creator & steam deck user to another: keep up the incredible work!

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! I just installed the latest version and increased the VRAM to 4GB. Also on my Windows 11 (installed on SD Card) I increased the Page File size to 4GB. My deck has never been so SMOOTH . I kept the Task manager on while I tested a couple of demanding games and I noticed the disk now has less activity, the VRAM is almost constant at 30-40% which means that anything above 25 (the 1GB assigned by default) would've needed to constantly swap and impact performance. Seriously, Man. Thank you and God Bless you for not only providing solutions but the knowledge behind it. P.S. I work in embedded automotive software and I'm somewhat an expert on memory management topics. I loved the way you explained everything.

I've been meaning to try your script out for a while and just got around to it. I jumped into some Sonic All-Stars racing and Splitgate right after. Man, it feels so much smoother playing both of those games. In Sonic racing on the Samba Studios track, I would get fairly significant frame drops. After your script it still drops frames in certain sections, but it feels way less "stuttery" and jarring than before. Same goes for Splitgate. Before, anytime I would stand in front of a portal the frames would drop and it would stutter. Now it's a way better experience. Thanks for all of your hard work. Like everyone else has been saying, we really appreciate it!
