I really love your content. I’ve lived this game and Islets and seeing you delve into this world has been amazing! Keep being your charming self, your appreciation for art, vibes and gameplay is a balance I don’t often see. I really appreciate this channel.

I enjoyed the series a lot. Also, I noticed that the long gauntlet of enemies at the end had one group of enemies for each zone of the game - essentially a little memory tour of all the normal enemies, the way a boss-rush is for bosses. I thought that was neat

(minor spoilers below) That final ability really took this episode from epilogue to Grand Finale! Props to the designers for this clever way of hiding some final places to explore!

I was hoping to get more insight about Kendra, the Palace and the trash she leaves behind, but I guess they leave that up for speculation. Aside from that, this game was amazing and it was a very fun playthrough to watch!

That door puzzle was some Tunic-level puzzling, I would not have gotten that in a million years

Not only a quiz game, a quiz game with a host that sounds like "Wah wah wah gah wah wah". Only needed some extra large eyes and to be in rhyme to perfect it.

This has been one of the cutest games you have ever played. And I love that Kendra got humbled in the end. She's not a bad frog. She was just a little too concieted and needed to be brought back down to earth. Poor girl. 🥺

Is it even a cute Playframe series if there isn't a frog or gator somewhere about?

Thank you so much Dan for making me discover this gem of a game! It was a really chill playthrough and it's always a treat to watch! And thanks to Carrie for the flawless editing (the effort in the seamless transition... I now pay attention after the conversation about it in the Yoshi's Island playthrough hehe). I'm more of a silent watcher, but you guys light up my days

Oh wow. That ability was, like so many of the others, so smart and interesting. A spin on something familiar that works so perfectly and is just really cool on top. And that post-game mode?! Are you kidding me? This game is so good. And what a delightful playthrough. Thanks again, Dan. I had no idea this one existed before episode 1. (I absolutely did NOT solve that puzzle before you looked it up)

There was one place Dan didn't go. In the far NE corner of the back room of Roy's shop was a wall, I think you have to dig under, which lets you unlock something between the back room and the area just north of it.

Hmm... (episode spoilers below) ... ... I get that it's meant to be a mostly lighthearted experience, but that epilogue with Kendra felt sorta...rushed, I guess? I expected a little more back and forth, I suppose, where Kendra tries to defend her behavior and it takes a while for her to warm up to the idea that she was in the wrong. Instead it boiled down to the protagonist saying, "You did a bad thing," and the villain responds with, "Oh, sorry." I feel like some actual recognition of the heartache she caused would have gone a long way toward redemption. As it stands, I don't feel like Kendra deserves the group's forgiveness yet.

Yeah, I was hoping there was more to it as well. Especially since she's also the cause for the trash in some way and would be nice to get that explained too.

I would never have thought of that for unlocking the cat door - it looks too much like a map when the world map is also roughly a rectangular grid
@sdgesedegeКүн бұрын
Tbh the solution only became obvious to me the moment you said you’d just put on the “see hidden platforms” skill and inadvertently showed us the corresponding cat was lit up.

For me, it was about 4 minutes into the video when Dan was looking at his inventory and I saw the 8x4 grid on screen and went "Oh! Oh no."

This was a great experience! Apart from the game itself (which was terrific), the fact that every episode, _even_ the finale, was nice and bite-sized is a good change of pace from recent playthroughs. Looking forward to the next one!

I liked this one, Dan. Very much the PlayFrame vibe. And long enough to have some depth, without ever outstaying its welcome. I watched the speedrun from the most recent GDQ immediately afterwards and boy is there some good movement tech. Worth a watch when you have a spare 45 minutes. Looking forward to finding out what's next!

I really liked that Kendra's photographs just make her seem even worse. No tragic backstory. Just pettiness. Makes her comment about using the mirror to spy on her rivals ver sad.

OK, the upgrade items jumped out at me when I realised there were 32 of them (16×2). I don't know if I'd have got it, but I'd probably have tried changing around some upgrades, I like to think I'd have noticed the statues changed and hopefully would have twigged that it was tile-for-tile.

(episode spoilers) ... ... ... Agree with the comments thats Kendra's story seems to end abruptly (altho you can find her in the VIP room right at the end, Dan missed it). I appreciate it's a small team, but I'd love to see a few more lines of dialogue where she expresses her loneliness and Pluto encourages her to help clean out the palace, it would cut to a short pan across the palace as all the characters sweep up with Kendra, then end with a polaroid of the whole gang together. Fade to title screen. I think that would wrap it up nicely. With the photos, I didnt get the impression that they were doctored, just that Kendra had never built any resilience or learned to share, because she'd never needed to.

Kendra seems to have been spoiled in life, so when she died, she took the Palace cause she's a spoiled brat. Then somehow convinced that she was good and the guardian... actually how did she even get that position? And what about the countless other ghosts? Are there other afterlives? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!

Huh. I'm gonna be honest, that ending felt a little... incomplete. Maybe I'm being influenced by Dan suggesting that her photos were doctored, but... it just felt like there was going to be more to Kendra's story. In the end, she was just super spoiled and childish, and I was expecting something deeper. Like, to the point that I'm wondering if Dan missed something...? But I feel like he wouldn't have published this video as a finale if there were more to the game? Hmmm. I really did like this game, I don't mean to harp on it, it just felt anticlimactic in the end. Oh well...

0:44 Don't you have a full grid of upgrades? All the scam items were upgrades, so I think you're good? 1:32 I wouldn't call it a "lie", it definitely existed. How else would the scam shop work? 8:52 There's six wall panels... I'd guess hitting statues in the room until something lights up or I hit them all. Something about this puzzle feels very self-contained. 11:42 Welp, that guarantees I'd not get it. Especially with a map as big as this one. 11:56 100% would not get this without looking it up. It's not a "bad puzzle", but I don't like it because I don't know how to infer that that's what it's referencing. I've not noticed/don't remember the game doing this prior to this point. 12:54 Genuinely, I don't know? It really depends on how you approach in-game puzzles. For me, if the game doesn't tell me otherwise, I run on the premise that it's all "interactable" in some way, like it's in the worldspace. This puzzle doesn't read that way to me, this reads more like it's "outside" the worldspace. 14:30 The urge to be so mean about Kendra having a crying room is so strong. 15:16 Urge to be mean growing. 15:54 I love this, full stop. 16:19 Is that a performance/practice or a fight? 16:25 That's awesome. 26:42 Well, if I didn't bounce off the timed puzzles earlier, and had somehow made it this far, I'd probably bounce here. 29:12 Yea, real strong urge to be mean. 30:15 Here's a worse thing: doing nothing wrong, and having some privileged git damn you for eternity. Like Wailer, for example. Or Skully. 30:22 I'm not sorry! 30:37 No, it's not fair to compare anyone to an egotistical, privileged git who, apparently, never experienced any kind of hardship. 31:27 I agree that crying is healthy, but Kendra has precious little to cry about. She's spoiled rotten and just now getting comeuppance for who knows how long of blanket damning souls because they weren't as "good" as her.
