Welp, the edit glitch is still there apparently, but it didn't affect much so it's fine.

I CAME BACK TO DESTROY THE LUTE

Ah, so you too spent a lot of time with dear Aria?

How did Melody stay alive despite the lute's destruction?
@bobosmith1012 жыл бұрын
Whoever destroys the Lute will die, hence the "I will sacrifice myself" line from the Necrodancer/The Bard/Octavian. Presumably, Aria had kept playing the lute for most of her journey to the shrine to destroy it, or else, yes, they would have died. Anyways, the pretty reasonably guess is that if the Lute brings you back to life when you die, and then the Lute is destroyed, you remain alive, provided you weren't the sacrifice.

@@bobosmith101 Thank you, that's a very good explanation

I honestly get confused by Nocturna's ending. Why did she lose her temper and destroy everything? The only theory I have as to why she calmed down is because a moment later she calmed by looking at her reflection, something a vampire doesn't have. This would mean she's still alive
@TackDanzi2 жыл бұрын
She got mad to see that she wasn't turned into a human, but then she was able to see herself in the mirror (holding the lute, meaning, the lute made her alucinante of her fantasy) and she escapes with what makes her happy. Yeah, it's pretty open ended.
@TackDanzi2 жыл бұрын
Most likely the lute make her alucinante so Nocturna didn't smash it into the mirror. More of a mean of defense, instead of making her actually happy. I don't really know, but the general idea goes there.

Might have to ask the devs. Really I don't get what's going on. Moreso that her story starts with the lute bieng created by the conducter, who admits she doesn't understand it either.
@silversonome53608 күн бұрын
@@pikachu-uk1bg The Conductor likely didn't create the lute, moreso just discovered it. Since it turns into a fleshy, serpentine monster at the end of Aria's ascent, and not like a mech, we can deduce that the Conductor is likely not the creator

From what I understand, her goal from the start *was* to destroy the crypt, she didn't lose her temper, she was just steeling herself to make sure that she could end this senseless extension of life. However, when she was about to destroy the Lute, it showed her an illusion of herself as a human, showing that it had the power to turn her back. Nocturna likely took the Lute to the town to turn herself back, which was the original moment when the lute was used to heal people A personal theory I have is that Nocturna might have used the Lute to destroy the Vampire Clans. Since there's no other mention of them in the game and Nocturna's story is chronologically the first one, I assume she exterminated all of the vampires, but probably began to become corrupted and decided to hide the lute once more
