Dead ringer actually means exact duplicate. It is a horse racing term for fake horses that only look like the professional ones. (Aka ringers) and the dead part stands for precise. As in dead centre.

One, this song is freakin awesome. Two, it's my favorite fight in the game. Three, everything he has is somehow related to bells: His helmet greatly resembles the Liberty Bell, it has a object on it similar to the handle of a hand bell (unsure of proper term), his weapon is a mallet, one of many things used on bells and similar instruments (case in point, gongs), and the only thing I haven't been able to get is his armor- but it's probably bell related. Four, dead ringer has three meanings here. Dead, haha. Ringer, bells. And the meaning of the phrase is "a thing that seems like someone or something else", meaning he seems like any ordinary sub-final boss. I love it so much.

I prefer this guy much more than the Necrodancer because: 1 - The Necrodancer spawn mostly normal enemies,and the Dead Ringer can summon load of minibosses. 2 - I am kinda disappointed with the Necrodancer fight. Well,atleast with the first part of it.It's kinda boring having to be positioned almost perfectly and having to go to the center of the arena just to go back into the position needed. Attacked one of the various enemies that the necrodancer summons? Sorry,you will have to go back to the center of the arena again. Seriously,if there were more block to help you out,it would be so much more bearable...

Because this boss is exclusive for Cadence. Take any other character and go to the upper right room of the lobby, you'll see they can't trigger a training against him or the NecroDancer 1. Same way, the NecroDancer 11 is Melody only, the Lute is Aria only, Frankensteinway and the Conductor are Nocturna only. The only way for the other characters to fight against them is to play local co-op. With funny things like Bard and Cadence against the NecroDancer, Dorian and Cadence against Dead Ringer... Or Aria and Nocturna against the Conductor.
