Ironically Mike said Mechanize is the easiest stuff for him to play and that the drums are more complicated in FF ever since. Mechanize was a lot of straightforward drumming as opposed to trickier patterns in the more recent albums.

I was 14 years old, living in Greece listening to Sepultura, excited by everything from the music to the artwork, a life changing experience for me. Arise was the first album I purchased. I'm now 39 and I still remember the lyrics by heart, haven't read them since then. I must confess I didn't like the fact that Fernanda (whom I respect) had to read the lyrics to pay tribute to the greatest Brazilian metal band. Apart from this "detail" the cover was more than ok imho.

When Lars was getting praised as the best metal drummer for AJFA, Igor was quietly blowing him away with this masterpiece of thrash drumming. Sepultrua's Arise record should be considered up there with Master of Puppets and Rust in Peace as the top thrash album of all time. Heck, the big 4 should be Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, and Sepultura.
