I just watched this video. Very sad. I don't understand why the church doesn't ask for a few of the parishioners to volunteer twice a year for a clean up. Maybe liability? Anyway, thank you for another great video. Glad you got the heck out of there in time. Stay safe!

Hi Tony, great video. Just to let you know, at I think the 1:37 mark, as you were talking into your camera, you walked past a monument that was definitely pushed over. Also at the I think, 3:06 mark, I hear a strange noise, I think it might have been a voice, maybe. I know I have said it before, but graffiti and vandalism in a cemetery, is one of the few things in life that really piss me off ! You were smart to leave when you did. There is no telling what those people were up to. It seems that either the church or the city stopped caring about that cemetery. Thank you Again Tony, and merry Christmas.

There are plenty of abandoned cemeteries in Fresno County. Some you wouldn't even know that there was a cemetery there. When cemeteries run out of graves to sell and/or room to expand, they become abandoned. Don't believe that a portion of the costs of plots are for perpetual care. It's easier for the cemetery owners to walk away with the funds.

It's 147 years old. Most concrete won't last more than 100 years. So whatever is concrete is well into breaking down. I can see those things breaking on their own. I found a couple of possibilities for the checker board. One is the balance between good and evil. There's also some type of numerology involved with the numbers 6 and 10. Not sure what that's about. But checker board decorating is very, very old. Goes back to the times of the Greeks before the Romans gained power.
