How do I know what is being sold as a “short term gain” vs “long term gain” when I’ve been continuously/consistently buying crypto each month throughout the year? If I bought crypto in Jan , Feb, March etc… every month.. and then I sell some for profits in Feb the following year.. it would seem that could be both long and short term? 😅

What you suggest is what i have been doing with stocks and ETFs since before 1995 I gradually sell on the way up and add gradually on the way down based on a book by Robert Lichello. The system does not choose investments, it just manages how much to hold based on price, not by making price predictions but by teacting to what the price does. You are never all in or all out

Well you're assuming you bought them less than a year ago, crypto cycle is every 4 years, smart people buy it mid bear cycle which is 2 years away from your selling point... and when you're up 3-5x yes you sell and pay the 30% tax to redeploy it in the next bear market
