I like how on brand Cas looks and how good Ben looks, I think the slight zipper collar of this sweater and the similar red sweater are a great brand appearance and looks like just the right blend of casual and professional. Marc Cohodes @AlderLaneEggs began predicting Silvergate's demise back in November. He was all over them for months - and maintains that Silvergate is a crime scene. No mention of him here even though he called this more than three months ago.

Dumb question. WHY is it so important for all these crypto projects to have access to fiat? Can't they just bring in people who will exchange goods and services in return for a crypto coin? I have two cars, why can't i sell one for one Bitcoin (or whatever fraction of a bitcoin we agree on). I hold the coin till I want to buy something directly with that bitcoin? I'm not good with computers.

No one want to use crypto for trade. Because you have no protections. You can't reverse transactions, so you can't hold deposits or counter fraud.

That's the value of fiat: it is TRUSTED. The seller who sells a good or service using dollars as an exchange of value with a buyer can turn around with his dollars and buy from someone else. Trying buying something at a store using crypto and you may as well be using play money. Crypto is an attempt to create money out of thin air promoted by scam artists who use Ponzi principles to make money off ignorant and greedy rubes.

The dirty but obvious secret is that Crypto IS fiat, which just means 'by decree', not necessarily by decree of the state. Crypto fiat is way worse.
