Taking in account the effort they put in improving the graphics on the pc, if you try to go guns blazing on the switch I can see the fps drop below 20. The original Crysis runned at 30fps on Ps3 and xbox 360 if you played stealth.

The only people that truly know their ins and outs is Crytek them selves (maybe Ubisoft due to Far Cry?). in fact, pc wise Cryengine is a great deal for developers in every other category, decent money agreement, great graphics, isn't bloat ware, and can be very stable with hundreds to thousands of different things going on. and yet understanding it is like trying to precisely interrupt the bible perfectly. So Saber interactive porting this game is an achievement in of it's self. I don't have switch, but yeah, it is a shame that not that many other games on the consoles use this engine.

CryEngine V looks really good on low settings, and runs well on budget hardware. The Switch is also kind of beefy, the hardware is faster than what's in the Wii U. The best modern examples of this are Kingdom Come and Star Citizen. Even at low settings, both games look impressive.

8800GT runs crysis fine on 720p Also, it is worth to mention that Crysis 1 was poorly optimized for multi-core CPU. Xbox 360 and PS3 version was based on CryEngine 3 which had better multi-core support than Cryengine 2 Switch version also is based on better optimized version than original PC version

Really impressive, to be honest. It's a big step up in terms of geometry, texture quality, and physics over the Xbox 360 and PS3 version(though there are still some drawbacks like refresh rate of some aspects like shadows and animations in the distance), and the lighting got a really good boost over the PC version. And that's on top of running at 720p 30fps, which is better than some ports of other games.

The problem is they actually used the PS3/360 console ports as the SOURCE for even the remastered PC version which is ridiculous. If anything, because of PS4 Pro and One X existing and how Hunt Showdown looks, modern consoles should be able to run PC quality with ease but from the leaked trailer it actually looks worse.

Considering that the Wii U to my knowledge, had little (or flat out no) official support for CryEngine, seeing the Switch getting support and being able run this game with its kind of hardware is impressive. An odd choice though to make this the first preview of the game though, since there's not a lot of community overlap for people who love Crysis and those who own a Switch exclusively.

Not true. Crytek had C3 ready for wii u but EA said no. Not that they are related since wii u was powerpc architecture like 360 and ps3. Switch is arm-based and carries no leftover code or relation to wii u in architectute, this cryengine in the video is based on the build used for nvidia shield (look up crysis 3 nvidia shield) which has the same chip as switch

@@Guest-pv9jh Depends on your experience. I play games at 144hz and notice drops down to 120-110. In my opinion 30fps is barely playable. However for the switch 30fps is all you can expect in any game that looks half decent.

Well yeah for a portable device its pretty good I guess but the gameplay was 720p 30fps. Thats 1/4 the overall pixels of what I would consider "good" (1080p 60fps). I honestly dont see the appeal of replaying crysis on a portable device at basically the same settings as back in the day (remember: Nobody said 30fps without framedrops). However my opinion on the switch is probably kinda biased because I am a pc gamer with a lot more than 400$ budget. I owned a switch but the console is in my opinion not worth it since most games are a) barely playable in portable mode due to the horrible controls (at least ego shooter type games like crysis) b) barely visible due to the display being way way worse than even a 200$ smartphone. However the fact that a device that is smaller than a book is able to play games like crysis at all is pretty insane, but not exclusive to the switch: There are many really small form factor pcs out there. There is a company (I forgot the damn name sry) that makes like 8" laptops that will be able to run crysis better than 720p 30fps. Those are more expensive than the switch though.

@@pixel_arc8550 Yeah sorry dude but i disagree with you 😅 I love my switch, all the games I've loved (+new ones) on a portable system, also the price is a huge factor, 200-300$ for a portable console or 400$+ for a laptop (which is not as convenient to play as the switch IMO). But i respect your opinion tho, it's not really for EVERYONE.

If the game is as good as the first one, its probaly not as important how it looks. I remember playing crysis 1 for the first time on 20-25 fps on my sisters laptop and enjoying it more than every other game I ever played.

Seems like I'm one of the few people who are okay with motion blur option. I mean I only use it when fps is like 60 and lower, to make a game more smooth, and yeah, that's only for singleplayer games and most of it are 3rd person.

I don't know about the xbox and ps3 versions, but the original PC version had a motion blur toggle and an intensity slider, so hopefully that makes its way in the remastered edition too.

Sadly not. The PC trailer leaked a few weeks back (i think you can still find it around the internet) Long story short, Crytek delayed the PC trailer and launch because of the backlash from the PC community at how bad the "remaster" looked. Honestly it looked crap..We are yet to see what the PC version will look like after the delay has been lifted but we all have our doubts...The Switch version looks fantastic dont get me wrong but thats not the community for Crysis
