When I was still sailing(spent some years on a container ship), the best part of the day was returning to my cabin after a long day or watch. I don't know that I've ever commented on a KZbin video, but today I thought I would. I have loved Star Trek since I was a kid, my dad would watch it with me and I loved TOS and TNG. As an adult I have watched and rewatched all of the series before the recent ones, and I started the new ones recently too. They have always been a source of comfort for me. I read an article from a psychology journal recently that said when we get sad or lonely or confused or overwhelmed we often turn to things we have received comfort from in the past--which now sounds incredible obvious as I type that out but the journal was much more nuanced than that haha. Anyway, Star Trek has been one of those things for me. My husband has always known that and been supportive, he's teased me about it but only in a fun way. Today, he sent this to me, after a week of having anxiety and being angry and feeling helpless about what to do with the ridiculousness in the US (and world) right now, and I started crying. This has given me a sense of physical calm I haven't had in quite some time, thank you for your video! And to those that have commented that they are single because they want to be able to love this stuff without compromise (in a healthy way haha), it's totally possible to find someone who enjoys these things with you. It's also entirely possible to find someone who may not, but loves these things because you love them. My husband now sends me the best Star Trek memes and he asks me about the various shows and buys me Star Trek gifts, including collectors items, etc. Would he do that if he wasn't married to me? Hell no, he'd never even watch it. But he does because he loves and supports me, and if you want to be with someone, they should do that for you! Us Trekkies are just as lovable as anyone else, and maybe more lovable? 😉 Thanks again for this great resource. [Edits are for grammatical or spelling errors haha.]

This reminds me of that TOS scene in That Which Survives - where Scotty tells Spock "the feel of the ship is off". A couple of days ago, I was watching that and laughing at the techno-babel. Spock learns that the ship is .0079 degrees out of phase. Now that is less than 1/10th of a degree. Its less than 1/100th of a degree. it is approximately 8/1000 of one degree. But what is the solution? Reverse the phase of the tool. Now everyone knows reversing the phase is a 180 degree change. So for a variance that is far far less than one degree, Spock employs a solution that is far more than 180 times the size of the problem.

Man, thank goodness that this is FINALLY in 1080p. I was listening to it for hours - while I slept, while I worked, while I ate. And it was so upsetting in 720p. But now? Now that it's in 1080p? Such relief.

You can truly hear the difference in the sound quality when you put it at 1080. Try listening on quality setting 360 for 60 seconds and then listen at 1080 for 60 seconds and then come back to this comment and like it! (2014)

Clarence Brown Video resolution has no effect on sound quality. Changing the bit rate does.

Thanks Matt Harrell. I understand the bit rate, but unfortunately not everyone does. Sometimes you can be the smartest person on the internet and if you can't explain it in layman terms, it makes it hard to relate or even make it relevant. Thanks! (2015)

It's a bit like if you grow up in and rarely leave a busy city, where you live near a main road. A still day in the countryside is so different that it takes a little while to get used to, but generally you would be able to get used to it.

I work night shift and currently have a basement bedroom to sleep in now so noise from the outside is no big deal. But two years ago while moving to my new job and waiting to see my old home, I was in a small camper in a noisy trailer park. I read where white noise helps you sleep so I put this on and it worked!
@browsebywire40964 жыл бұрын
Well...I wasn't expecting this. Now I just need a little plug-in Enterprise sound machine that makes this noise to play on my nightstand. It should also project the time to the ceiling using a laser inside the phaser array, and have little LEDs glowing in the engines and shield array as a night light... SOMEBODY MAKE THIS AND TAkE MY MONEY!

Try giving up any foods that contain artificial food coloring.

@@jumbledpileoperson instead of mocking, try looking at Dr. Ted Broer's work. 85% of his patients were healed by simply giving up food coloring, after 2 weeks. The other 15% needed extra treatment. Isn't it very interesting how KZbin allows linking to things mocking actual medical knowledge, but if I were to try to link to the data proving my point, GestapoTube would delete my comment. Hence people like me always seem to have weak arguments because we cannot link to the evidence.
