Thank you Crystal. I recently found teff grain is incredibly rich in iron. Both teff grain and teff flour are so tasty! The flour can be used to make Ethiopian bread (they look like pancakes and are very easy to make).

Hi Crystal, I just discovered your channel and it all I needed right now ! I've been enjoying Derrick's video for quite some time without knowing you had your own channel. I've scrolled through your topics and everything seems so interesting I cant wait to dive into every single one of them. I've had trouble with period symptoms since puberty and struggle to find ressources for tips and tricks to support your cycle naturally. Whenever Im trying to talk about it with health professionnal it always comes back to pills and chemicals and this is not the path Im willing to take. So finding your channel today was a huge blessing, Im really grateful that you share your knowledge with us. Thank you for this great video and cant wait to watch more content ! Thumbs up from Montreal !

i had a herbal teas phase , now i usually drink decaf coffee. the herbal teas i tried included red bush - which is close to tasting like black tea. i liked peppermint, berry one was too tart for me, chamomille made me very sleepy. the best one was apple and pear - but i can't find it anymore!🍏🍐

Hey Crystal! Thanks for the informative video 😊✨. I used to drink ginger tea every day, but stopped during my period because I felt the blood thinning potential of ginger made me bleed even more. Have you heard of this before? Would love to hear your opinion on that 😊 Have a nice day 🌞
@CrystalKennings3 жыл бұрын
That's a great question! Ginger is well known to be a blood thinner as it's contains a natural acid called salicylate which can thin the blood. Depending on how much one is having & other lifestyle/medical factors, this could potentially be of concern. However, studies have suggested that ginger may actually help reduce overall menstrual bleeding in people with heavy periods! So I think it has it's benefits but I also think, as with anything, we all have the right to decided if these things work for us! We are all different and just because someone finds it helps doesn't mean you did. That's okay! We are all different :)

Another amazing and informative video. Thank you 😊 I have a question 🙋🏻♀️ do you find it more challenging keeping your ferritin levels high on a vegan diet?
@CrystalKennings3 жыл бұрын
Hey Rosa! I don’t have any issues keeping my ferritin levels healthy! I just had a blood test and my levels are good. Many years ago I did have low ferritin but I was eating a very “cleansing vegan diet” and obviously that wasn’t working for me, so I had to re evaluate and have been eating a balanced, cooked vegan diet ever since and have had no issues. Food matters for sure!!! Everyone is different though but I believe the body adjusts iron absorption as one increasing plant foods (non heme) sources in the diet! Thats just my experience though ☺️

Thank you Crystal, you're great as always ❤️ Regarding teas: I currently live in Germany and was roaming around Drugstore last month and discovered "Menstrual tea". It's super warming and calming and I find 2 cups a day can really make it all a little bit better. In case if you're interested and want to DIY, here are the ingredients: Lemon grass, orange leaves, nettle, fennel, lemon balm, camomile, lady's mantle, yarrow herb, angelica root and vitamin B6 🌿 Greetings to Derek and all the best!

Interesting. Does that mean if you eat oranges your getting a double boost so to speak from the vit c and betacarotene to help with iron absorption? - in theory at least.
