I had all four removed 15 years ago, plus an additional tooth pulled in the same procedure due to one of the teeth getting impacted. The tooth above where the missing tooth was inactive and the original plan was a root canal and implant where I had the missing tooth but my former dentist quit a few years ago and had to find a new dentist to get a referral to the same oral surgeon that pulled the teeth before (was unemployed and on Medicaid in 2009 but when I did the referral last year my insurance from the marketplace lapsed during the spring and the claim was denied so I had to drop over $700 to get a tooth pulled back in January). I had an IV when I got the wisdom teeth extracted but local anesthetic when I got my tooth pulled back in January.
