Crystal River/Ozello Slam: How to Catch More Reds, Snook, Trout

Had a mid day low tide which makes it difficult to target reds until incoming tide. So we were forced to Target trout till about 1:30pm and went home around 3pm. Were lucky enough to get a 31" Snook before the tide went out in the morning which made the slam easier to get.

I don’t charge. Guests usually just pay for bait and gas to go.

Thanks for posting this great instructional video, I have just started kayak fishing and have fished the salt river with no luck AT ALL, are the areas that you are fishing here too far out for a kayak?, I have also fished in Yankeetown and caught some nice keeper snook, Ozello and Fort Island are closer to my house....any suggestions.....keep up the good work.

Kayaks are limited in warmer months. Most kayakers stick to ozello backwater by John brown or the end ramp. As it warms up fish tend to move out farther. Yankeetown has good fish near the end ramp as well as Vassey. I don’t know salt river very well to help you there

@@delta30024fly ... 40 ramp , just northwest , there are alot of oyster bars , and 2 small islands. Fish the edges of the western side of the 2 Islands, and the drop offs of the oyster bars. They're there , just have to have patience.... you'll have a great time.

Mud minnows or pin fish?? I couldn’t tell what y’all were using

I use shrimp for reds on a cork. Gulp shrimp for trout. And a paddle tail for snook. If I have mud minnows or pins on the boat they tend to get the bigger reds and snook. But shrimp will catch a lot

@@cjd2555 I usually use a cork when I’m around grass and mangroves. Can freeline if you’re around a deep hole or cut
